***TENTATIVELY SOLD*** 1974 and 1970/71 FJ55 Iron Pigs
I am selling my FJ55 project. This sale contains two pigs, as follows: 1974 FJ55 This pig ran when parked, but will need some work to start again. It has the usual rust and sports a very fetching faded desert tan rattlecan job over the original pumpkin/cygnet two-tone colorway. Original 1F inline 6-cylinder engine. Three on the floor. OME suspension. Big knobby tires which may still be viable. Original-ish front and rear bumpers included (not shown). It will need the existing carburetor to be reinstalled properly (it was reconditioned some time back). It will need electrical work. I suspect it will need fuel system work as well. Windshield has a vertical crack more or less in the center. Rear gate stopped working when I drove it...
Price check - before I call the guy
Please let me know if price checks are not allowed here - I figured here was better than the tech section. There's a 55 for sale locally and has been sitting there for quite some time. I need another vehicle like I need a hole in the head... but curiosity is getting the best of me. I know nothing else about the vehicle, as I haven't called yet. It's located in PA. The body is rough. It does have an intact headliner. The frame had no apparent holes. Knowing very little about 55's - what's a ballpark fair price for this rig assuming it runs?
A well known lesson is been re-enforced. I had been looking at a FJ55 on ebay and other sites that is being offered by a consignment house in Orlando. It looks 99% good. Small minor things NBD.... The area of greatest concern is always rust and the repairs that have occurred or needs to. A little pricey but perhaps that could be negotiated..... But have learned to look in the "poke" no matter what...... So I spent the cash to have it inspected since it was half way across the country and if I jetted in perhaps I wouldn't be able to get past the "ooh shiny" part of the inspection. Well it was money well spent, the empty column of non operational equipment was filled with enough items that it would not pass any states safety...
76 fj55 Eastern Canada
Not my truck Just posting as an FYI as it appears to be in great condition for the price. I am on the opposite side of the country otherwise I would consider it... Link below will also upload photos. I'm finally ready to buy the 55 I've been building in my head over the past 25 years. I'm looking for something that I can work on while using it at the same time. The body condition can be a range of just shy of needing a transplanted roof to only needing surface rust cleanup. Ideally I'm looking for the following years in order of preference. PTO winch is a big plus but definitely not a requirement. 1976 to 1977 1978+ 1975- The amount I will spend depends greatly on the condition of the 55 but anything over $6K will take some serious convincing for me to buy. I know I'm a newbie but I am very serious about finding the right FJ55 for me and building it into something I'll never sell. I'll keep and eye out on this site but if...

1970 fj55 california rig
California 1970 fj55. Good solid rig, does have the usual rust but I guess not too bad as far as 55’s go. This was on a farm for 20 years so it is a project. I just installed a 69 f145 that came from a running rig. Fired it up and #6 exhaust valve is stuck. I have so many projects and just don’t have time to do a valve job. Also will need brakes, fuel system cleaned, etc. I started to source some parts, new license light, good rear tailgate handle!, side markers, correct rad and shroud, trans mounts. Has 3pd floor shift( not installed) warn winch. Rockers are solid, all body mounts solid, frame is nice, gutters are perfect. Front floors need patch work, rear floor in front of rear seat has some rust through, front right lower fender...
FJ55 turn signal plastic pedestal base & grommet 1975-1980 (reproduction parts)
I built these for another member on the forum and ran a few extras in an attempt to recover some of my costs. You can take OEM FJ40 turn signals and converted them to FJ55 turn signals with this part. Doing so requires you to disassemble your old lights and reuse the factory bolt. The factory bolt has flairs on it that are designed to be pressed into the new part by taking a small socket and gently taping on it with a hammer to seat the bolt (best if done by laying the part flat on a bench with a hole in it to accept the bolt as it passes through the part). The alignment pins will need to be ABS glued in. I left this up to the buyer because it will make it easier seat the bolt. Three options are available (all items sold in pairs)...
