Essentially, this 40 was largely done by a friend, with the idea of a trail rig that kept as much of the Toyota heritage as practical. Usual story on the reason for sale; I took this on when I
with three little kids, I don't get much time to chase after the things it needs and the Tundra is a better platform for travelling and camping. A lot of work went in and, while there are some things still to be sorted.

1982 fj40 with 127,700 miles
Before moving to Colorado little over 7 years ago I replaced brakes, rotors and pads. Rebuilt front knuckles and seals at same time. Installed 2.5” OME lift. Had top painted professionally painted with liner to match the powder coated wheels. It has 5 like new 33x10.5 BFG At’s. The exterior was repainted prior to my owning her and it does have some peeling on upper edge.

I've had this truck for 15 years. It's got slightly more than 50K original miles on the engine. Since acquiring it, I've added disc brakes (the original drums just didn't grip) as well as power steering (so my wife could drive it - not that she actually has!), and have acquired all of the pieces for a great, IPOD-based, stereo (yet to connect it). Additionally, I've added five new tires.
The vehicle runs incredibly well (all oil and fluid changes performed), and has no mechanical issues. There are some small rust spots on the body (see pictures), but in general the truck is quite clean. I don't have a garage, but I'm very disciplined about keeping a tarp over it to prevent moisture from...
