I am going to be listing my 1977 FJ40 soon. I just got divorced and need to free up some funds. Breaks my heart. I plan on replacing aftermarket wheels with factory wheels. I will update post when the work is complete. Truck is in fantastic shape. I have all original parts that have been deleted. (emissions, A/C etc)

My observation is that Mud members always want a lower price. You are not going to get what you want on this site. I would not bother with this and just move on with BAT.

I would have to disagree as I would say everyone always wants a lower price that is the nature of buying and selling and it has nothing to do with MUD, BUT they want a price as it can't be For Sale without one or being an Auction. I think you will find for each member that posts in a thread another Dozen will send Messages and keep their head down. If I had any interest in this truck I would not post in here I would hit the guy up direct and see if I could by it, looking at his recent message count I would say that is exactly what he is dealing with.

The other issue he faces on here is that people notice stuff other may not as they are all obsessed with land Cruiser like having a SR on the truck with no mention, or the fact he has no idea of price and doesn't want to be COY yet slips his number into the post and mentions he has many side discussions with members hint hint hint .....

At the end of the day he is a player looking for Max return on his endless hours of investment and doesn't want to under sell himself and have someone jump on it so he is baiting the market and hoping that BAT will bring him endless wealth and a solid sale. What he is missing is the fact most mudders know people who want Cruisers and all his approach is doing is pissing people off lol. I passed his details on to two guys that I know have $$$ and want a 40 with the caveat the truck is looks solid the seller looks like a PITA to deal with and one of those guys you would always be wondering if he was going to pull the rug out of the deal, we all know the sort.

Anyway, hopefully it sells for Big Bucks and he can sit back and thumb his nose at my opinion in the mean time hopefully he will either play by the rules and post a price or move his thread to the Chat forum and ask for input lol

Can we not relax a little bit here. @LAOLDFJ is doing the same thing many people do here. He's simply letting us know about his 40 being for sale on another site. Much like the guys letting us know they saw something on Craigslist or eBay. He's not trying to start an auction or take bids on mud. He's casting his net wider to maximize his return because circumstances dictate he sells it for full market value.

He's been clear from the start what his plan was, and another post deriding him for not putting a price on it won't change his plans to put it on BAT. I hope none of you complains to a police officer if he pulls you over for only going 5 over the limit, because rules are rules.

I finally decided to post because I don't want him to think everyone on mud wants him tarred and feathered. That said, perhaps it is time to close this thread and the op can simply start a new one alerting us when it goes live on bring a trailer.

SR = Shackle reversal where your front spring hanger mount has been moved to the rear and your fixed end has been put out front with droppers. Plenty of info on it in 40 series world but it seems to be a very love / hate thing and would be a deal breaker for some people

Yes, she is sold to a very nice older couple in Oregon. One last post before I bid you all a due. For all of you who have been helpful and supportive over the years, a sincere thank you! For all of you who were losing your mind over this post, good riddance. I know a forum is just a group of people usually like minded with a shared interest. With that comes people without a life that uses a computer as a way to be a d!ck when you wouldn't have the nuts to say in in person.
