Selling my 1972 FJ40 FST in HOUSTON Texas, truck has spent weeks over the summers in CO, and its fantastic Mtn trails. Proven trail rig, has crossed 13,000 ft passes. Great thing about the fuel injection, fires up at 50 or 12,000 ft, no problems. Drive it around town, or on the trail. I recently purchased this 40 from the grandson of the original owner. It is a nice original example, ready to be put back on the road. Original doors and soft top frame have been removed, but are included (see photos). It had a BestTop top on it, which is also included, but not in the greatest of shape. Many of its miles came from being towed, and it has a sweet towbar setup. This has a PTO winch and rear jump seats. Very little rust. 3.9 liter straight 6, 3 speed manual transmission, hi/lo transfer case. Original CA black license plates will stay with the car IF sold within CA. This was purchased in '94 by grandpa and garage kept in Colorado until 2017 when it came down to phoenix. The engine was rebuilt in '96 and the more recent maintenance includes new tires, shocks, battery, water pump, thermostat w/ housing, and hoses. In the sixteen years of ownership it has been driven 22k miles including to the top of Imogene Pass. Since coming back to Phoenix it has seem a little more exposure and so some of the surface rust has developed. Notable points of rust are the floors which are not rusted through but more than surface rust, small spot around the rear window bottom corner, and one star in the passenger rear quarter. Up for sale is a clean barn find 1965 Toyota fj40 (Titled as 1967) The body is in really good shape for the age. Top is also in very good shape. This is one of the accordion early style tops that are hard to find! It runs and drives and stops fine. It has a functioning manual 3 speed on the column transmission in frot of that It has a gm 230 six cylinder gas motor that runs good just smokes a little but smokes less and less every time I drive it. Will need some tlc to make a daily driver. But this cruiser has a ton of potential it deserves some one with more time then I have to give it a new life. Any questions just ask. I am reluctantly posting our 78 project for sale. Since I purchased it from Indygb it has moved twice and we have purchased some other vehicles limiting our time building this. Body work done by Indygb, rust cut out and repaired then painted OEM Mustar (looks great). OME lift 2.5" lift installed, 4 seats with new seats covers to be installed after seats are blasted and painted. Many new Toyota parts due to Gabe's former Toyota connection.
