I am going to be listing my 1977 FJ40 soon. I just got divorced and need to free up some funds. Breaks my heart. I plan on replacing aftermarket wheels with factory wheels. I will update post when the work is complete. Truck is in fantastic shape. I have all original parts that have been deleted. (emissions, A/C etc)

My wife just walked through the room as I was looking at your pictures, I told her "this is the one!" In typical wife fashion, she laughed and kept on walking.

Best of luck with the sale, it's a great looking truck.

I've had many side conversations with members. Please understand, I'm not trying to be coy, I really am just not sure what she will bring. I don't see many in the state mine is in. (Either more or less nice) I have gotten a few opinions but am not comfortable just throwing out a number without listing all the pics (I have hundreds that show prep for paint, mechanical etc) I believe the closer I can get to "in person" the better.

How soon is the timeframe, like next week or like Christmas?

I've been looking and this may be outside my limits but please post up when it hits auction and how to find it.

Thanks and it's a good looking truck!

I am a little delayed. I am finishing the exhaust today (back to factory) and leaving for vacation this week. I need to be available to answer questions. I will hopefully be posting the following week. I will definitely let the forum know when listed.

Been dealing with life. (Family got his with hurricane Michael pretty hard) brother and sister got a bunch of damage and mother lost almost everything. Finally settled down and got all photos to BaT. Should be listed (relatively) soon. I made a youtube video to attach to auction.

Shouldn't this BS be removed due to the need to have a price ? I have seen plenty of listings get removed why is this an exception, this isn't an Auction site and it is annoying when people treat it as one.

If you want to benefit from the community then do the right thing by them and list a price or move it into chat and stop fishing.

You say you don't want to be COY .... then stop being COY and man up a price or move along.

^^This^^

Or

Take it off the market till next year when you have time to deal with potential buyers ;)

So, I'm a part of this great community for five years and now that I am in a financial situation that I have to sell my most prized possession I shouldn't post on here? I know this isn't an auction site. I have not asked for bids or offers. I am simply not sure what I should sell it for, so I'm doing the best thing I can think of and letting the market determine. I believe anyone reading this would do the same in my shoes. I am trying to let people that may be interested in a nice 40 coming for sale know. I apologize for wasting your time. To all of the members who have been supportive, Thanks. I have been asked MANY times to keep the site posted as to when it goes to auction.

I feel for you and your situation I truly do. I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. However several members are dead on with their criticism.
It appears that your trying to drive folks to BaT instead of simply posting a price.

Typical mud courtesy would be to post a price of don’t start thread until your ready to sell.

Good luck with sale, it appears to be a beautiful rig.

No .... what I am saying is if u are not prepared to post a price and feel it is in ur best interest to be coy then post it in chat and be honest instead of trying to be coy. If they let posts like this in the classifieds it will go down hill quick. Funny thing is you probably think u are being smart when in fact on the current market posting a price might actually not u a buyer and that is what u say u want. Pissing off potential buyers achieves nothing.

After 5 years I am sure u know damn well classifieds must have prices ... 5 years should get you knowledge not exemption.

I am not trying to piss off anyone. The vehicle will be sold on BaT as I don't know what is a fair price as I have said over and over. I'm not being coy, I'm proud of the work I've done and wanted to reach out to a community of fellow land cruiser enthusiasts. BaT isn't an exclusive site and anyone can use it. I'm sorry that you feel this way. I'm not trying to destroy the sanctity of the mud classifieds, I'm taking the advice of others who have taken there vehicles to auction. This is a risk for me and it may not pay off. I will post on this thread one more time when the listing goes live for those who are interested. I have respect for MOST of the users of this site and am not going to go back and forth about a difference of opinion. This is bogging down the classifieds far worse than someone (like me) just letting people know I'm selling a vehicle.

Not trying to be a jerk, but I think the forum rules say you need to have a price in the classified section. May not be enforced, but I think it’s there somewhere. Good luck on BAT, I’m sure it will sell quickly.

FWIW, you should put a price on it.
You'd be hard pressed to convince members here you don't have an idea of what you want for it.
Don't mean to stir the pot but all the other ad's have a price so should yours.
Anyhow, it's a really nice 40.
