Hi all,
Due to our growing family, I need to sell my beloved FJ40 and pick up a 60 or 80 series. I have owned her for five years and have completed many updates to make her safer, more reliable and a stronger performer. Not sure if I'm over or under pricing, but based off my investment and what I see on the market, I'm looking to get $10k out of her.
The Good:
- Rebuilt entire powertrain (less than 1,500 miles) including engine, 3spd transmission with new clutch, differentials, axles and transfer case
- Retrofitted to power disc brakes on all four tires
- New wheel bearings throughout, rebuilt knuckles
- Installed power steering with Saginaw pump (3 on the tree with power steering is pretty sweet and rare)
- New parking brake...
This beautiful FJ-40 if still fresh off of its restoration. Showing only 300 miles on the odometer, this FJ runs and drives just as good as it looks. Painted in a gorgeous Copperhead, full of metal flake and pearl, this Toyota stands out from the crowd. Accenting the color are the rare, original black factory doors complete with plexi-glass windows. Inside, this FJ looks practically brand new. I stopped counting at $40,000. It’s in daily driver condition, and I drive it often. I’m moving (building a new house and shop) and need money as well as parking spaces. I’m also selling 2 project vehicles- I can only take 1 fun car to the new place. Pics tell the story, call with questions - it’s super clean and one of the nicest in my area. Mud will only allow me to post 5 pictures. I guess if interested call and I’ll get you more. $35,000 firm - no haggling. If I can’t get that I’ll keep it.

Like the title says, I’m in western WA and I’m looking for a 40. Never have owned one and never drove one either. I’m looking for something that is rust(rot) free. Patina is fine, preferred really just don’t want to patch holes or do body work. I’m a pretty good mechanical person. I’m ok if it needs drivetrain or suspension work. I like the stock look and ride height. Not looking to spend more than $18k. Would rather stay local to the PNW. Thanks everyone!

Bought a bunch of FJ40s from an east Texas body shop. Elderly gent was getting out of the business. Most of the vehicles were nothing more than rusted out carcasses.....some weren't, this is the last of that bunch.
1972 sky blue. Non-running. Story was that it developed a rod knock, PO started to repair, parked it and there it sat for 20 years. So I have not attempted to turn engine, lets assume it is locked up and internally rusted etc..... has rust in all the normal places: floors, rear sill etc.... as seen in pictures. One place that I was surprised to see rust is where the top meets the bed, reference pics. It has period correct bench seat (not sure of year on seat)...
