I thought I had seen some freakin' nut-job anally clean fetish kinda dudes on Mud, but you just might have taken it to a new level!

Welcome aboard! (But certainly not new to wheeling and wrenching!)

Thanks I guess... this clean is generally not my style but with a bead blaster it is so easy, so why not.

I saw that one of the vendors on here was selling this bushing, you guys think I should replace it?

If you have it torn down this far, then it probably isn't a bad idea to replace it.

I wish I had the skills (and the tools) to take it this far down.

I've had a few bushings that needed to be replaced. I clean the shaft on the oil pump gear with 400 grit emery soaked in Isopropyl alcohol to remove any bearing material that might have transferred to it. I then place the shaft into the bushing and check of play. If you can any play between the shaft and bushing I would replace the bushing.

The bushing needs to be pressed into the block for this as the ID will shrink slightly when pressed in.

So, I get the impression you may have done some work on cars before....?

I'm a good guesser! looking forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks guys, I decided to order a new one. I figure this far in I might as well

Thanks! But, I am not sure I always have the skills, I just usually go for it... I figure if someone else can take it apart and put it together, I can too.

Thanks! Yeah I used to be a Toyota tech. Didn't really like working on other peoples cars. So, with a little luck I should be finishing a degree in mechanical engineering in about a year.

nice garage setup!!! great progress!

Thanks!

Wow, impressive work indeed. It has been a while but I know I didn't have the time as a student to pull off all the work you are on this, well done!

Looks like you've actually got a 209 York, not a 210.

You can identify the crank of the different models by the geometry at the end of the crank. Check out page 17 of the York manual and you'll see what I mean.

Not a big deal, unless you end up ordering parts.

Thanks I totally forgot that I had two yorks and only one was a 210.. here is my other one.

Thanks. Yeah I don't usually during school, just on Christmas break right now.
