Stop me if you heard this before: haven’t spent a whole lot of time on my project, at least not until inspiration hit me when I finally got ‘a round tuit’

Birthday weekend, so I figured I earned a solid old guy pun.

If anyone is on the fence about @Rainman brake lines, let me attest here: these things are one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve installed on this project. Now I need to get a better clutch line. It looks hideous next to rainman’s neatly curled line

His control knobs look perfect. Clearly, I’ll need to clean up my other ones since these look so sharp. In photo are heater, throttle, and choke all courtesy of @ToyotaMatt

Finally got around to installing fuel lines from tank to pump. Huge thanks to @Tancruiser and @kellervernon
Between the two of them, I was able to get the old school lines and they look great.
I routed the fuel line through the frame. If anyone objects, let me know. I thought it would help protect but I could just as easily route the line on top of frame rails

ran into a snafu where glass bowl filter had odd fittings essentially glued in. I had to use a metal fuel filter for now to connect my new old lines.

here’s the glass bowl with press on fuel fitting that was glued in making access to threads impossible without significant efforts

Currently on the hunt for a proper fuel line from pump to D40 carb. The one I ordered from SOR appears to belong to a carb where I put is on the side.

Only thought on fuel line running through frame is if and when you have to clean out the frame from dirt/mud/crud that line can be a nuisance being in the way.

Should there be a flexible line anywhere between two assemblies that can move independently, like engine and frame or frame and cab?

Backfire! I was able to get fuel line rigged up to the truck. I had to remove the metal line from fuel pump to carb as it wasn't the correct bend. Right now, it's ugly but it works. @shermantank55 came over and helped connect the choke and throttle. Tried to debug a faulty blinker that only buzzes, but it appears I'll need to figure out ground.

All of this effort is to make it run. Well, timing was off and I wasn't making it any better. Had a heck of a backfire then nothing. Shawn at land cruiser specialists really helped me understand when TDC was achieved on #1 piston (by removing the valve cover)
So @shermantank55 and I (mostly him) proceeded to adjust timing on the 40. end result, it lives!

Left this project off where the engine was running after sitting 3 years. 3 years probably isn't a long time around this crowd. Now that the '67 is running, I needed to get it to stop.

All brake lines were removed from the truck for paint, so had to reinstall. This also meant they were empty of fluid.

I had a problem with SOR aftermarket brake lines. The hard lines are made from a metal that is very brittle. In chasing down leaks, I broke off more than 1 line in the junction - look at this beauty:

Extracting metal bits from brass isn't easy.

Again, huge thanks to @shermantank55 was able to use his shop and help to extract busted cheap Chinese steel.

With this out of the way, I had a VERY firm pedal. It was weird, but the brakes would not release after a couple pumps. The only way I could get them to release was to open the bleeder valve.

I thought perhaps the springs were worn, so started there by replacing springs to see if that would return the wheel to a moving state. I had a brake shoe kit from Cruiser corps. I didn't know this, but the shoes are specific for top / bottom? I probably didn't get it right as there weren't markings which would help me identify:

I did my best to set the shoes in place where they wouldn't rub.

Turned out, my brake pedal was not set correctly... it was applying pressure. I backed it out to the 9 inches pedal length per FSM. This helped release the brakes, but introduced a soft pedal. Lots and lots of bleeding would net air every time, but in the end... she stops and goes!

Officially moved into the phase of finishing up all the little stuff!

Finishing little stuff. But the 40 received its first bath, getting the dust off.

Redlinecruisers are building a reproduction fuel line which will connect the carb to the fuel pump. This will remove my rubber line rig job.

I purchased the wrong air cleaner assembly twice now. Third time the charm? I found an oil bath for the ‘67 on the way. I am unclear if I can revive the oil bath or convert it to dry element. Stay tuned!

Doors will stay off until weather requires more shelter, but the hard top is still unfinished as I await funds to tackle that phase.

3rd times the charm! Thanks to mud classifieds and @foxfab I was able to find a correct air cleaner assembly for this truck. It’s an oil bath, and was a little crusty. Nothing I couldn’t solve with high levels of environmentally hazardous degreaser.
My lawn will pay for this

After ample degreaser, wire wheel and POR combo was applied. The finish was decent overall with a few couple bumpy spots

Also had to replace a brake line. Turns out aside from a few bolts that were hand tightened for fit, I neglected to secure lines from the moving tires.

Minor update. Took me forever to get the tires swapped over. With this task completed, I was finally able to install hub caps.

Does Texas have the License Plate year of manufacture rule? Florida has that also.

and last note, Your hood windshield bumpers are backwards, short end goes towards windshield.

Tires are BF Goodrich KO2 31x10.5 r15.

Texas used to swap plates every year until 1974. Can find year issued plates on eBay and run them with a registration sticker. Pretty slick.

Thanks for the hint on windshield blocks. Following online photos, You see them going every which direction. I’ll swap them. At least the bezel is correct?!?!

Finally installed the floor mat I bought from @Racer65 site back in 2016. It didn’t come cut out for the tool box and I was ok with that. Figure I’d pinch the excess under the driver seat.

Also got around to installing the OME shocks I bought off another mud member with the help of @shermantank55
Ride is so much better than the ranchos which happened to been way beyond their useful life. Adding a steering stabilizer helped remove darting steering. So did tightening of bolts that held the components in place

Damn near luxury car ride with new shocks and a bikini top.
