Yep the carbon literally turns liquid and runs out. Lots of smoke too. Let us know how it goes.

I could do that MAF plate but once read a theory that the section of egr pipe that juts into the intake almost acts like a breaker from the cold gas hitting the intake. If the pipe isn't there then cold gas hits it straight on. Idk. I'm iffy about ditching it.
But if that person isn't desmogged then his egr is active and adds heat to that pipe right? So w/ a desmogged truck then the egr is eliminated and that section of pipe jutting into the intake isn't doing squat except only slightly diverting the cold gas from hitting ground zero right?

Thank you, that's really nice to read.My hats off to you. Not because you are a woman, but because you seem to think everything through and ask a lot of questions. I could learn from you. Keep up the battle. Can't wait to see some pics of it wheelin in the future. Just got done reading your thread from the beginning. The amount of work you have had to do to your cruiser makes me feel like I got off easy with mine. I applaud you once again, and will continue to follow our build.

No point. I've decided I won't use it. Just gonna splurge for the block off plate from MAF.If a bear falls in the tree and no one is around to see it, does it still make a sound?! Don't want to hear about you getting blown up randomly.. Always good to have as a "just-in-case" measure.
Seems like you are going to be stuck inside for a bit so I would keep playing with it where you can. Maybe try soaking it in your molasses bath too?
More or less. He said he doesn't have a special fitting he called a cup to get into there. So I shouldn't worry?I think the welder is saying he couldn't reach down in the carb side with his TIG torch. Should be fine as long as it doesn't leak.
