Came to the realization that I won't be able to really work on the 75 until I get more space. That is about 3 years down the road. So I took all my inventory down to where the 75 is and stored it away. Great having all the space back in the garage. Life is too busy right now to get that project going full steam anyhow. It will be there for me. Nice seeing it again.
Decided to bring the top back as my plan is to run OEM style softtop on the 75. This top piece is much nicer than the one I have from the 74. One small blunder however. I assumed it would fit in the minivan I used to schlep all the 75 parts in. Well, unfortunately it did not. So I had to strap it to the roof. Made for a slower ride home and nervous moments checking it every minute or so through the skylight. But once I got the rigging all figured out it never moved. Still checked it frequently...

While standing in line at the Starbucks in the John Wayne airport in Southern California I saw this artwork and figured I needed to take a shot of it. And the barista was from Nigeria he said he saw those all the time there and that photo made him feel like he was at home.
Someone else posted a shot of this same artwork in another Starbucks awhile back. It'd be nice to be able to buy a print somehow...

Hi,Not stock valve cover. I read to go with aluminum as they seal much better and the old ones leaked.
Racer that is what came out of the heater and hard lines after my full flush and air blow through. I rinsed out the hard lines and the rear heater and bunch of gunk flushed out. Perhaps that explains why the water didn't flush all the way through? Also might explain why the rear heater never worked great.

And my secret to getting the insulation on the pipe... Well that's all I could find not sure where the baby powder went.
They sell the insulation tubes in 6' lines, would one be enough for the job or you purchased two?

Here's a little fix for the non-tube style spare tire carrier. The rubber stopper on mine was crunchy and the bolt too short. So it rattled/slammed around pretty good. I replaced the bolt with a M8x1.25x50mm SS pan head screw. And got 5/8" rubber chair tips. Shaved off just the slight raised portion so the entire bottom was flat and it fits like a glove on the pan head screw. About a $2.50 fix (I have some extra rubber tips). Will test drive it later this week to see if it improved the rattling/slamming.

Wow it has been a while since I posted something here. Not much done in my cruiser world, was really busy with training for a big hike so it kinda took a back seat. But I was finally able to replace my worn out steering wheel cover. Turned out great, a bit more work than I expected. I didn't want to spend the $60 on the one made specifically for the cruiser so I got a generic one which was close. Fit the diameter perfectly but was too wide for the circumference of the wheel. So I trimmed it down and punched holes in to thread it up. Took a lot longer than their estimated 1 hour but that's what I get for going cheap. Was $12.99 on amazon.
Oh and that big hike was Half Dome in Yosemite. It was awesome and I got to do some recon work for my leg of the Cruiser cross country adventure since my plan was to go through Yosemite. Will make for an incredible backdrop for photos. Here are a few from my hike.
The "Visor" - we all stood on this for our photo. The valley floor is almost 5,000' below! We aren't in this shot FYI.
There is a small cave under the visor so I decided that would make for a more interesting shot.

Do you have a link for the steering wheel cover? My steering wheel is cracked and faded from the sun, I was thinking about putting a cover on. I was just about to buy a slip on cover for it this week, I'm glad you posted a picture of yours, it looks really good.

I've been up there a couple of times since and now I'm too chicken to even go near the edge, I get about 10 feet from the edge and my knees start shaking.
