Is this project still on? Summit cruiser's carriers are hens teeth and it would be nice to be able to order something. Getting 35s soon and I don't want it hanging under the truck or in the cargo area...

Very interested on an OEM bumper rear tire carrier. What is the pricing and how long is the order time. Are there any instructions on how to install to the bumper? Is it possible to order a right side (passenger side) tire mount?

You should check the classifieds some times I just sold a complete summit kit on the cheap.

I'm pretty sure this project is shelved. It may come off the shelf and get some attention at some point, but as someone who has followed this thread from the very beginning I would be surprised if it was anytime soon.

The ONLY reason this hasn’t seen the light of day is because I can’t find a good, local fabricator. Keeping it local keeps the cost down and makes shipping easier. Until that shop is found, yes, this is back burner.

I understand what your going through, I know how hard it can be to find a fab shop that has the commitment to produce a quality product in small batches, deliver those items on time, and at the agreed upon price.

I wonder if a fabricator would be more agreeable to just supplying the parts for a 'DIY' weldable kit. Might not be worth anyone's trouble though....most folks want the finished product (me included) but I can weld proficiently.

Something like that would never come from me. Finished products only.

It's hard to belive that of all the millions of people living in the LA area there isn't a good, reliable fabricator to be found. There's gotta be one in town somewhere, but I suppose that doesn't mean they'll be easy to locate. And for that matter, when you do find them they probably won't be cheap.
I know that in smaller communities, particularly ones with agriculture nearby, there would be several decent metal shops happy to take on a side project and do a good job at a fair price.
I understand you wanting to keep it local, and it's your business. It certainly isn't our place to tell you to do anything different. It just seems like a fairly low hurdle after all the effort you've put into this project.

That’s the problem. Lots of false starts, failures, dropped balls, disinterest and ridiculous pricing.

I understand. Anything less....and you can not control the quality.

It was just a thought. Some vendors offer DIY products/kits.

I still have my fingers crossed that this project will come to fruition... Joey is this one still shelved pending a reliable fabricator?

Who is ICON / TLC using for their bumpers? Gotta be local...

Last I saw TLC/Icon was using Slee.

I am installing the Delta VS front bumper today and realized I'm having reservation about putting a 315 75 r10 under the 80.

I'm also not sure I want or need a heavy rear bumper due to cost and weight. I'm on the fence and multiple times have considered just ordered the Delta rear bumper, they truly are works of art.

Summits rear tire mount looks like a decent option.

What say you bud? Any long time 35" under rig users pros/cons? How about rear tire Carrier options? Wits end stuff is the bees knees but I don't see Joey has it on the website.

Thanks Mud:flipoff2:
