I get tired just thinking about drilling all those holes lolThanks man! Hah yeah it’s surplus elevator metal. With the loads of free metal I get, the table gets lots of use! I don’t know how I lived before I built it. The drop in dowel clamp system is a game changer.

I have a few of those slabs too (dunno where I could have got them) and on one of them it was all I could do to get a 3/8 hole drilled in it.
Rest were no trouble, but that one end of the one plate...holy crap . Just destroyed drill bits. Wasn't a work hardening issue, could try an inch away and watch a brand new drill bit melt without making a dent.
My guess is they're made of recycled steel and that one had a bunch of old tool steel in the mix that didn't get stirred in.
Or perhaps a futuristic alloy..

I have yeah, although I got rid of my oxy acetylene setup years ago, so in this case, my options were limited.I like 3/8"s plate. Christmas is just around the corner
Have you ever heated metal till its glowing and then drill it. Works real well on hardened steel.
Although if I had 9 more square feet in my shop I'd just buy an Arkdroid cnc plasma cutter.
Sorry man, just basic metallurgy - melting point of each metal varies. What about the steel pot the molten slurry of steel is in?

Ya, just messing with you.Jokes are less funny when you have to spell them out unfortunately.
Does anyone know who sells 33x9.5r15? It seems like they are obsolete?
I remember someone saying Interco but I just checked and nothing?
