Spent a week at the beach with the family and brought the 40, many special memories made - especially a few fishing trips with my daughter!

Nothing exciting, but the old girl is always wanting to get out so I picked the hottest day of the week to run her to work.

And you didn't bother to kick open your air conditioners??
It seems hotter with them open, but this is a dual climate control vehicle so the passenger can have at the window cranks and kick vents.

I made a trip to Ace Hardware in Clear Lake for new bolts for the bench vise I’m cleaning up. I’m at the register and random old dude came back into the store to ask the cashier if she knows who owns the green Land Cruiser. It was a hot day so I just wasn’t in the mood. Driving home going past the NASA Sonny Carter Neutral Buoyancy Lab a car pulled alongside me and they started recording the truck with a cell phone. Haha I felt like a rolling museum exhibit.

Out in the Tatacoa Desert 🏜️, I opened both vents. The girlfriend doesn’t like the A/C 😁

After having a multitude of services performed (oil change, new starter, alternator rebuilt, tires rotated, alignment, grease fittings all done etc.) we headed out to the Tatacoa Desert, a little over 350 miles round trip from Bogota. With elevations from 8,000 feet (Bogota) down to Villavieja (1,400 feet) and return we had no issues. We crossed on a ferry, took an abandoned sketchy a$$ train bridge and tunnels. Traveling off road ( thanks Google maps) on over 35 miles of rough rocky terrain through little pueblos, it was quite an adventure. After our arrival we found an Ecohotel for a few days, which gave us an opportunity to explore the desert all day and return at night to the observatory, to see the planets, stars and the moon up close was amazing. Then the Frau pops the question and asks for a 5 star hotel, like I had promised her for putting up with my crazy adventures, lol. Sure enough we found a really nice hotel on the way back to Bogota and spent a few days there (Giradot) exploring the town, swimming, relaxing and getting some sun. Overall it was an excellent trip and we're looking for our next adventure soon. Cheers!
