I thought you already had it.

It has to happen. How to we donate?

I have it in my warehouse. Not in my garage.

Beyond the case itself, I would need 2 companion flanges, all of the parts for the input itself/PTO as well. It's not plug and play since the case itself is designed for many applications.

Not happening. Sorry.

Everyone knows that if they were to build a car by purchasing each part individually, the end result would cost up to 10X more.

I remember in 1988, when purchasing my 2 year old FJ60, everything was in immaculate condition. The car looked brand new inside and out. I didn't think much of the engine bay. Would pop the hood to check the oil, kinda peer around a bit, then slam the hood and drive away. Hmmm, its the engine. So what.

As decades go by and things begin to deteriorate and we work on the thing over and over again with maintenance & stuff, the engine kinda becomes part of us; a loyal and dependable friend. We see once shiny fasteners rusting. Once perfect paint now rusting along it's egdes. We see dirt and grime everywhere. We see our companion dying the slow death and it saddens us….We want the dream back… and it becomes almost an obsession with trying to turn the clock back in time.

New Land Cruisers & other unmentionables are not FJ60's. The USA will never see a FJ60 type vehicle ever again… Ever. And so, in a sense, it is priceless.

So those in the know (or who have the disease) don't really care if the cruiser resurrection requires a 2nd mortgage on the house or forgoing their child's college education fund. All we really care about is that our beloved friend gets to travel through the Toyota-Parts-Time-Machine to live another day.../ and live it WILL!

Very eloquently put sir.

I cannot at this point. I already have north of $10K in this. The split case would add another $2500 that I don't have.

:(

Cheapskate.........:rimshot:

Oh, how come you are leaving all the part number tags on everything? Not quite Concours...:hillbilly:

Because it is important that I know and others know that all new OEM parts were used in this reconstruction. It's a point of pride with me. You know that! :)

Keep them on!
Having all the photos of the parts with all the PN's on the bags next to them is priceless for the next guy wanting to what you are doing. It finally dawned on me how clever your thread is. This thread will be really helpful for others looking for PN's to match with pictures of the part. Priceless... but perhaps there is a more sinister motivation that I have overlooked?

No sinister motivation at all since no one will ever be as stupid as I in doing some this preposterous!! :)

That said, having part numbers with pictures confirms applicability, confirms availability, and confirms location.

Needed to clean up the engine bay a bit and the weather is nice today so I pushed the truck out for a bit.

First was rear heater deletion. Got rid of the long metal tubes and then the heater box assy itself. The deletion leaves 4 holes in the floor. Luckily they are 25mm in width so I ordered the correct plugs to fill the holes from the top and the bottom. 90950-01011 They should be here next week.

New heater valve is going in as well:

Then it was time to clean the nasty AC high pressure lines. All of them came off and the metal portions were cleaned. Looks pretty good. Also got a new dryer/receiver as well. That will be installed as well once the engine is back in. Trying to clean out the engine bay in preparation for reinstallation.

Ordered a transfer case bearing set from my good friend Georg. 34mm idler shaft. Thanks Georg!! I have all of the gaskets and seals already so just needed the bearings.
