Got some 4 degree wedges added to Daniel’s OME lift. Waiting on some parts before I can put the T-case back together. Buttoned up the oil pan and RMS. Ran into a problem pulling the bearing from the tip of the output shaft. This puller has worked flawlessly for many cases but this one is proving a bit stubborn. Filled it with Kroil and letting it sit overnight. The cage exploded and all the needle bearings are out. Will see if I have any luck in the AM.

Jimmy gathering some moss….. 😂😂🤘🤘

(I guess we all are).
Ha…I definitely am. For the first time in 32 years I have zero reason to cut my hair or shave. Been using a #1 on the “Wahl” system every week since 1997. Sorta cool using a comb when getting out of the shower. Guess I forgot to bring it to Roundup :).

On a serious note, Casey and I added a more sophisticated leveling system to my trailer yesterday. Much better than my old “good is good enough” system. And dam if the master did not make me do all the welds. Talk about pressure with the teacher looking over your shoulder :). Good news is he taught me a bunch which I’m grateful for.

Helped out a really good guy with a timing belt/waterpump kit in his sweet hundy on Monday. Busy day so forgot to snap some pics. He had what he thought was an Aisen kit put in 25k miles ago. When I opened it up found the pump was not Aisen and the person doing the job forgot to replace the O-ring on the back of the waterpump. The old one was very brittle and the obvious culprit of the leak.

On another note…I’m getting the pleasure of working on Brent’s @SoTexCruiserDoc 80. Hard to believe but someone stole his cats. So he picked up a Magnaflo system and I’m replacing the manifold studs, all new crush gaskets and bolts/nuts to the back of the muffler. Excited to hear how this system sounds.

Heading out to pick up a new addition to the barn. Has a bad trans so anyone that has a good running A440 out of a 62 that’s within reach of the central texas area would be great. A buddy is looking to help me out in the MO market and working on a mud ship opportunity. Thought I’d ask to see if there’s one closer.

Never had a 60 series with an auto trans that I did not convert to a manual. Have a friend in Austin looking for a TD with an auto. If he does not want this one I’ll most likely convert it and put her on the market. Need to verify if the auto out of a 62 will work with this one first. It needs some TLC but the body is in great shape.

I was looking at an HJ61 a while ago and I vaguely remember someone telling me there is a difference with the auto in the TD. Maybe the valve body?

Would it be possible to share the part numbers for the Magnaflo system you installed, please.

You’re correct. The 61 has a A440F and the 62 is an H I believe. From what I’ve read it may also have to do with a beefier torque converter. All comments I’ve seen so far is folks that have dropped an H version behind the diesel have not had any issues. My goal is to have the next owner determine the trans and I’ll swap it in. I have an H55 with T-case out of another 61 that can be dropped in or glad to go new if that’s of interest as well.

Here’s another cool add on I put onto this 80. A Slee receiver hitch to go with the Slee bumper. Directions call for removing the rear bumper so you can clearance the frame with a cut-off wheel. Being solo this would have been a bit challenging so I used the plasma. Still took just over 3 hours but know I could be much faster doing it a second time knowing where to cut etc. and with a better step bit.

And this is close to the barn. A cistern on my place that I use to irrigate my turf grass. I keep the water balanced with chlorine and this above ground pool pump. The feed line from the manufacturer is thin and cheap. Springs a leak annually. So this time I harvested the upper/lower radiator hoses from a parts 80 and put them back in commission :).
Oh…and a pic of my boys enjoying a day in the pool circa 06
