Jim, et al

There is a 20% off and free shipping over $75 right now at some Toyota dealer parts online. Link below is Lewis Toyota in KS I use.

Comes to about 77 plus tax...
Might be time to order some new drums with that free shipping. I'm really out here sticking it to the man.

Edit: $297 shipped for two drums and the shoe kit. Hmmmm....

@CenTXFJ60 I should update my parking brake cable. Is that part number for a 60, or is it also an early 80 Series thing? Looks great!
There is a difference between early and late 60 series parking brake cables regarding the bracket mount on the rear axle. When you order through Toyota, I always include the VIN. This has saved me a couple times.

Cheers, James

Sharing a video I sent to the owner. I could not adjust the new rear brakes due to the broken parking brake handle. I discovered his cable was bad as well so a complete refresh of the parking brake system and she’s now good

Five bucks says this is the work of a set of tire chains slipping off.
That's what happened on mine, bent the break line exactly like this, and ruined the parking brake linkage on the back of the drum. Actually pulled the parking brake lever into the floor a bit when it wrapped around the cable.
My OSHA senses are tingling!

Hey Jim. That part # I have in the pic is for the 60. The truck I’m working on is a 87 model. I as @Dr Rock stated, there may be a split between early and late 60

Adjusted the brakes a bit and bled them a second round. Should have looked under the screen the first time but found a lot of junk in the master reservoir. Gonna pick up some more fluid tomorrow and suction this reservoir out and do a final bleed. Also noticed driving the truck today that this aftermarket AC was freezing me out so I switched to fan speed 2 and found that both 1 & 2 do not work. And low and behold…I had a new resistor switch in house. Quick swap (PITA to reach) and all 4 fan speeds now work.
