What is the largest tire I can fit with no lift? (7 Viewers)

Has anyone used the 35/10.5 17's yet? Kenda makes a tire that did outstanding in Moab last week when I was there. Tall skinny 35. Wonder if it will fit in the spare location aired down.
It is an 1nch and 1/2 physically larger than the 285/70 17

Not with the OE 16” wheels.

Currently I have Nitto Grappler 285/65/R18, but inside of the tire rubbed a bit until they it was adjusted so no more rubbing now. With the 2" OME rear shock/spring (nothing on front other than torsion adjustment), can I go next size up on the tires without rubbing?

No. You'll need more offset (spacers or a different wheel) to fit a wider tire.

Those 17/18 spec are stupidly overpriced. A 275/70r18 tg is $250 in comparison. And 285/70r17 is $225. Over $100/$150 more per tire for something that won’t be really noticeable

It's interesting, but not completely accurate.
A 295/70-18 is in spec on an 8" wheel

I use Tire Rack specs, they show the rim width the tire is measured at it's full PSI and they show the rim width range for that specific tire.

Bumper isn't the issue, pinch weld is.
I had 295 70 18 and it would absolutely not fit without flattening the pinch weld.

I’ve read pinch weld threads and seen pics but I just don’t know enough yet - just feels like I have a lot of room. Is more clearance needed in the front wells, rear wells, or both? My front wells seem pretty “empty.” This is my front drivers side:

-Amount of suspension lift
-16" wheel suggestions (offset)
-what wheel well clearance mods are required?

They do make a few tires in 285/70/18 , ridge grapplers for one, that might squeeze in. It's a rare tire size though.

285/70/18 would be rad if they weren’t such a ripoff. It’s stock size in the former km2 which all the Jeep’s rocked so other manufacturers started doing that size. They’re comparatively more expensive than 295/70/18 and stupidly more than 275/70/18. Just do the pinch weld mod
