Beautious! Nice fit and finish on all your panels.

Had a pretty epic camping trip. Started off rough, but it ended up really awesome. My wife's work was slow, so they asked if she wanted a few days off... and I work from home and also had a slowish week, so we packed up and took for for a few days. Going up the summit was brutal.. 110* heat, V8, hardtop... not fun. So much so... we overheated the dog and she crapped all over the back of the cruiser. Doh... cleaned her up, cleaned up the cruiser.. and kept going. Meanwhile.. the cruiser was running 225* down the highway... I was pretty worried. But.. as always, once we got off the highway on onto the dirt, she cooled down to normal temp. The only vehicle I've ever had that runs hot going 65 and perfect going 5.

Anyway, didn't see a soul for two days, camped at a sweet lake, swam, hiked a little (still was hot up there) and just relaxed for a few days. Found some killer trails, and had lunch today with this view... not bad. :)

awesome dude. sorry to hear about the dog but awesome view. where did you go?

Finally got to take the top off - and now I have a new / faux rear roll bar installed and family bikini top on. Then took my daughter to learn how to drive a stick. :steer: She says I yell too much. I must learn patience.

She drove a bit in the neighborhood, made it to 2nd gear....then decided that was enuff for one day. I drove us to Sonic for ice cream.

Good for you and your daughter! I taught one of my daughters and several other family friend's girls to drive in my 40, the granny low in my H41 makes it easy to learn to slip the clutch starting out. I start them in our pasture, then graduate to our dead-end street. They are all proud as punch to be able to do something that most boys in their high school cannot.

Got the doors 99% finished. What a challenge with the Mallotte Fiberglass Tub.
Half Top B.jpg

Drove it 100 miles round trip on Fri. Radio not working. Fixed it. (loose wire conection.) Checked the Rear gear oil. Fixed a non working back up light problem. (loose wire connection). Put on a Transfer/tranny bypass hose for insurance. Flushed coolant. Checked Timing.

Nice! I always like the look of a "SWB wellside forty".

Near Fordyce Lake. Lots of neat stuff up there, but a lot more I'd love to explore more of. Pup is good now, don't know if she just ate something that messed with her, or overheated or what, but she's back to her annoying self now. The cruiser however... needs a transfer case. If it ever cools down, I need to swap out the case for the one in my rust bucket FJ55. It's done, popping out of gear, and making a ton of noise.

Nice work! It's really coming together!

I found the source of the noise coming from the timing cover

It was the oil slinger that fell apart..not sure why ??:hmm:

It looks like the crank shaft gear was rubbing on it, was there a gasket on the cover?
