I looked at the latest paint mix: too greenish :bang: - the first one was closer in color, but too flat, and also a bit too yellowish

match is really important to me since only the rear of the truck gets new paint, and it needs to be a reasonable match to the hard doors as well

My 75 had lift springs with SOA lift. I swapped the lift springs out for stock springs off of the 72, still SOA. I also put my Aqualu tub back on to pre check the fit and wheel opening since I flipped the springs as well for the longer wheelbase. It's looking like I need to cut more off of the rear of the opening. Suggestions? I'd already cut it back 3" in anticipation of flipping the springs. I'd like it to be equidistance front to back.

Set the cruiser up on jack stands (both sides so the axle is in the same position as when it sets with wheels on the ground), remove a rear tire, and then start measuring.

First, make a template of the shape/curvature of the rear of the wheel well. Then, from the center of the axle, measure to the closest point in front of the axle (the lowest corner where the wheel well curves forward to become horizontal the the ground).

Then measure the same distance to the rear side of the wheel well from the center of the axle, taping the template in place to make sure the lower curve of the template is exactly equidistant to the front side of the axle. Mark it out, make a template for the complete wheel well opening and transfer that to the other side wheel well.

Be sure to take some pics of the finished project and post them here.

Finally finished installing my Auxiliary Gas Tank - had to send the Centroid sender back and buy an OEM sender - Centroid (E120/F17) wouldn't work with the OEM gas Gauge (fluctuating voltage) - also had to send the 6-port Pollak valve back (it was defective) and get a second one.

All done, tanks share the stock gauge fine - works great - 44 handles as good as or better than before! Removed the passenger side Jerry Can mount. Kept the driver's side Jerry Can mount for a water can... for the time being.

Also placed my free metal badge (from Toyota had to go with 'FORTYFOR' because they didn't accept digits and restricted length to 8 characters. So, '44' and 'FORTYFOUR' wouldn't work).

Installed mile marker winch on the f. Changed plugs, wires, damper seal. Re-vulvanized the damper, which was loose. It feels good now. I almost ran over a guy and his scooter. Gave hom 25 bucks to fix it. He was a happy man. (Me too) glad i did not killed him. Now i need new front turning signals.

Do you feel like shareing some more photos of your highmount mounting plate?

Im about to start mine and need some inspiration.
I will but it's not all that special, I found an old roo bar with a built in winch mount at the tip and just cut the winch mount out and welded it on the the back of the existing bumper bar.
Pretty simple really :)

It was such a great day in the mountains. Honestly one of the best wheeling day trips I've ever done. No problems, we didn't touch the strap or shovel at all... and we got into some DEEP fresh stuff at the top. Met a couple of cool folks and it was just a great day all around. We also made it all the way to the lake.. only the 2nd time I've ever done that in the snow, I was pretty happy.
