Installed new reg tags... But that's not why I'm....

So I changed over the Cali registration several weeks ago but finally got around to installing the tags. Since this is a 1969 rig, I thought it would be fun to see how far I could expose the tags, unearthing the oldest one.

Well luck would have it I got all the way back to 69! Lets see, the last time this tag saw daylight (mid 70's??) "Patton" was in theaters, Apollo 13, Boeing 747 commercial flights started, well I could keep going.
Anyway I of course left the last tag on and put the new month over it.
Lot's more projects for the upcoming weekends for sure. :bounce::bounce2:

Been planning a lot of work since I picked this up, just have not posted updates.

Custom rear bumper by Custom Cruisers in Gilroy, twin swing outs, spare tire carrier and water/fuel can rack-

Just ordered BFG Mud T/A MK2 tires, 33x10.5, going down from the 35x12 tires that are on there now (and which will be for sale soon if anyone is interested). Also shortening the lift shackles that are at 5.25 center to center to 3.5" c to c to get this down to a more stable height.

New shocks also coming.

Pictures to follow, but installed a stand alone GPS system which consists of an IPad attached to a Garmin Glo Bluetooth receiver all mounted up to a carbon fiber adjustable mount.

Starting to become the cruiser I have envisioned

Installed my rebuilt F engine.

Thought I'd strip back a bit of paint and attend to a few small rust bubbles that have popped up over the past year.

Next minute.. enter the bog monster

if you are going through all that work, take the diamond plate off, too

Got my front fj62 axle torn down and ready to take to get the brackets cut off foe my SOA. Doing a little research to see if the rear needs to be outboard springs for the swap

Replaced the valve stem seals on my SBC 350.

Pulled apart the parts 2f. Don't think I'll be able to make a 2fe.

Completed my first shackle job.

New Shackles, (3/4in over stock) pins, and bushings at all 4 corners of the truck. Got rid of the bent front shackle - PO must have hit a rock. Truck rides much smoother now, but now the steering is squirrelly! Shims/Alignment in my future.
