pulled the bumper and gussets off the karma cruiser, straightened out the mangled driver's side gusset [this truck had a rough life before Tony got it] sanded, wire-brushed and painted all the rusty parts, and installed my new brushguard. Bling!

The Vendor name for the stock seat rebuild in Escondido, California is

Old Town Upholstery
www.oldtown760.com
1-760-500-7903

Speak to Erik Morales, the older son. Nice people. Father and his two sons, small shop, and I think they are honest. Dad did upholstery in Mexico City for 25 years and is teaching his sons how to do the business here in the states. They work fast and produce quality work. They have my jump seats now for a full rebuild to match the front seats for $110 each. They did my stock front seats for $160 each, including new foam, new vinyl and cloth covers and dyed the headrests to match. Yesterday they pulled my door panels and put a foam insulation layer/water barrier in for so little that it was embarassing and I left them with a tip to buy them lunch.

If you're rebuilding the door panels, I'd recommend replacing the stock "hardboard" with 1/8" door skins. Doorskins are relatively cheap, and don't warp.

Their prices sound very reasonable, the materials would likely cost me close to that.

Got it stuck again....

Hopelessly stuck in a low tide in the Sea of Cortez,Mexico. Miles away from the high tide line & water coming back up as it's getting late. Luckily, a local in a dilapidated Hilux showed up & pulled me out. Paid him my last 100 bucks!

First time in about 17 years its moving under its own power. Owned it since 1980, parked it in the 90's. Been working on it since 2009.

Nice - what color white is that? Gonna get around to repainting mine one if these days...
