Hung the Top to the FJ40 in the garage

Finally figured out a way to hang the top of the FJ40 in the Garage! My wife is happy it is out of the way and I am happy my garage is clean again!

Finished 4 speed install then took it on it's longest road trip yet: ~210 miles from LA to Lone Pine, up to 10000 ft in the Sierras, then back again. Oil pressure good, Engine temp good, mileage good (about 15mpg all highway), cabin temperature NOT good but the wing vent windows help a little. Cabin noise, YES! Power at altitude not good but overall a great trip.

Why do the seams between your hood/aprons and hardtop/tub look like they do? Is it an illusion, decal or something else?

Ah, yeah.. sorry I missed it. Yep, painted it back to green a few months ago. I LOVE it. I was nervous because it had been orange the whole time I've owned it, but I'm VERY happy to have it green again (it was spring green from the factory).

refurbished the injector pump on the 2H and dropped it off to have the brakes completely redone

Interior light

For quite some time I've been enjoying the benefits of having converted my combination meter to LED bulbs and I was getting tired of the dimness, high heat output (and associated unnecessarily high current draw) of my internal light so I decided to convert that one to LED too.

So I went from this:




To this:



(And this work has now prompted me to try and convert all my trailer bulbs to LED next.)

I had to travel this weekend but did manage to get some more plumbing and wiring done. And I cleared the bezel gauges and glove box door finally!

Tahoe - have you installed a body lift? If so, what size lift did you install?

I am not sure that is the color that it was when I bought it a couple of months ago! I will need to find out its getting an off frame resto in march and going with the same color green
