grind...fill...sand...grind...fill...sand...grind...fill sand...taking the first load to the paint shop in the morning. Then its back to grind...fill...sand...until the body is ready for paint...oh and there will be welding too.

Removed the rear prop shaft on the troopy - it's bent from impacting some rather nasty terrain (don't ask me when - only noticed it when vibrations kicked in at 80km/h.)

Getting an engineering mob to cut the ends off, weld in a new tube and rebalance it. Cheaper than finding a replacement.

I put on my UZJ40 a set of 4.88 Yukon Gears and FOA 2.0 reservoir front and rear , very happy with the results,

Just putting things back together. Finally getting somewhere.

Very nice Moe. Can't wait to see the you tube walk around video when she's done....which I know you'll post the link to for us luddites :-)

Installed a new OEM regulator that seems to have solved my charging issues. Installed the SOR seat extender and the high density foam seat cushion for the drivers side. Sit higher and 2 inches further back is nice for 6-4 folks. Yes, it was expensive.

Lets see now, its been so long since I posted what have I done? Other than pulling the radiator to access the bolt holding the alternator since I put the damn thing in from the wrong side months ago. Swapped the bolt around so I can pull it out without having to pull the hole damn front end again in the event I have to pull the alternator. While I was there I swapped out the belts to longer ones that actually fit better so both the alternator and power steering pump are at better positions. (Now I actually have two belts I can replace by number as I was smart enough this time to make sure they fit well and then placed the sleeves they came in into the glove box for use at a later time. Reinstalled the radiator and power steering cooler. Pulled and reinstalled most of the wiring since the company that built it assembled the fuse box INCORRECTLY. I had no power to the lights no matter what I did. That is till CruiseOrlando came over to take a look and helped me figure out what was outawak. Thanks Carter. Pulled the fuse block, moved the wire to the spot it was supposed to be in to begin with, reassembled the whole damn thing again, started re-running the wiring to the dash, under the hood, and to the rear of the vehicle so I can actually have brake/tail/turn and reverse lights at some point. Then re-ran the wiring in wiring loom to the tail lights themselves, making sure to have it as high and out of the way of anything that might be mean to wires. Lots of wire hangers/clips/loom/and as much water proofing crap to kill a..................... something.
Drilled a half dozen holes for rubber grommets to run the wiring loom thru in numerous places under the thing. Now, hopefully no cut/shorts in all that new wiring.
Installed the new double battery tray I bought something like two plus years back from someone on the board and found that it only has all four hold down rods but only one hold down clamp (on top) for one battery. Damn, what luck. Gotta either make a duplicate of find one that will work since I have no idea who I bought it from so damn long ago. Mounted the Flaming River "kill switch" on the firewall and put together the battery cables with new lugs on the ends for use with the military grade batter terminals I plan on using. Lets see,,,,,,,,,,,I know there is more, just so damn tired now, I can't remember. Pics to follow for those that like them.
Hope everyone had a good Father's Day and a good weekend. Its off the shower for me now.

That looks like one that Stainless Steel Trays makes. They can get you a replacement hold down clamp. http://stainlesstrays.com/index.php?cat=1

I am not a car thief but that FR cut off is kinda useless with access to the terminals right handy.

After a week sitting in the shed, ute wouldn't start. Thought I'd lost prime, in the end it was a bad/loose connection to glow plug bus bar.

Busted it out of storage for a little leg stretching.....

Almost up to 42,000km on the clock. Kids love having the rear opened up.

Got the transfer case put back together after 3 months. Roar from TC is much improved but it now runs like crap from sitting. Maybe some injector cleaner will help.

Cut, drilled and painted a 5" channel front bumper. Removed front off road lights. Installed a new ignition switch. Ground on the rear sill welds a little. Next is to figure out how to remove doors or hinge pins on a 1962 fj40???

Got the 5 speed installed .. Cannot believe the difference :)

Nice Cruiser.

Where are you in Ireland? I lived in Fermanagh, Antrim, and Donegal for several years and still visit on holiday.
