Wanna buy it?

I have too much 'gee, I didn't know Toyota made that' crap in my garage already, but it is really cool. Thanks for the pic!

Thanks for the tip about synthetic ATF in the PS system. How much of a b*tch is it to replace regular ATF w/ synthetic?
You prefer this to running PS fluid?

That powdercoating looks awesome. I can't wait to drop my gear off to get done, I just know that I'll forget something...

I was the same way. I even dropped stuff off the morning they were shooting everything that I had forgot! It is expensive but definitely worth the money for the amount of time it saves.

Me likey that bezel. Being a "black bezel" guy myself, really like the way the powdercoating turned out. The headlights are sexy too... just WAY out of my spending range. Very cool though, looking forward to seeing it all assembled!

Thanks! We'll see, the black is growing on me. If my headlights weren't black, I think I'd probably stick with white. Maybe I need a white bezel that I can swap, depending on how I'm feeling that day ;)

Easy. I use two one gallon containers, remove the return line from the reservoir and put it in the empty container. Jack the rig up so the front tyres are off the ground, then have someone else start the rig and slowly turn the wheel lock-to-lock a couple times. While they do this, pour the syn atf into the reservoir as it get sucked in to the pump (DON'T let it get dry). Keep going until the fluid comes out clean. It usually takes about a gallon.

Then, hook everything back up, do a couple more lock-to-lock turns and check fluid level is good. Done.

I have Toyota electric winch stuff, tools, utility lights, jacks... Boxes of crap from 20+ years of obsession...I mean,'focus'.

Don't have pics here, but I got new 10mmX1 fittings, junctions and brake tubing. Ripped out the old stuff, bent and plumbed up all new front brake lines. Bleed it tonight, and I may get to drive it!:)

Did you order online?

Doh! Bloody predictive text! I wrote 65 but didn't notice it had changed it. I rounded as I know you Metric folks don't like decimals and fractions. I gotta read what I post more carefully..... I also noticed it changed 'leaves' to 'leafs.' Crikey.
Serves me right for surfing mud while walking to lunch....I hate text-walkers and here I are one.

Not only do your latest little i-gadgets upset your metric conversions but clearly they also think they know better about your word sequence Chamba.

And if you keep using them you'll soon be a hunchback with permanent neck pain (according to the world's leading chiropractors)

Throw them all away NOW!

:D

And show the need to be more vigilant when being a smart arse...

Took the hard top off to enjoy the weather, now my girls topless!

How does it bump idle speed?
Does it have the brains to cycle compressor clutch on and off? Or off when low vacuum (hard accel) is present?
Thanks, very curious, I'd like to put AC on my 55.

Compressor switch works on temp in the evaporator and the safety works on high and low pressure in the system. As for the idle in case of a diesel it has a vacuum controled valve and for injection the control unit of the AC lets the ecu know to boost idlle a bit when the pump switches on. On a carb therevare several ways from opening the trotlle to a second idlle circuit.
Hope this answers your question.

And with a 2F petrol it works very similarly except that the vacuum pulls a diaphragm with a rod protruding out the bottom up about 1/2". This rod in turn lifts the accelerator up. There is a set screw on the end of this rod so you can adjust the amount of idle-up (about 250-300 I find works with mine) to perfection. Mine cycles on and off as the air con cycles.

Lost a tread on one of my old 33X9.50's that I have been hanging on to for too long. Knew that day would come, so I bought some new shoes. 33X10.50 BFG KM2's. Very pleased with how they look and ride.

Been using my truck as a daily driver for two weeks.

Lesson learned? Leave 15 minutes earlier to get there on time.

Looks great. I've always loved the look of your 40.

Put it on ebay for sale. I'm sure going to miss it but after hardly driving it for the last 5-6 years I think it's time.
