what did you have to give for that lift?

Haven't been on that ferry for a while. I'd love to have one of those lifts. Nice!!!

Drove the FJ to Bainbridge Island (via the Ferry) to pick up my "new" 4 post lift for my garage:

Woke her up after a 10 year coma

My son and I took my 72 fj out today, after letting it sit around for 10 years.I bought this truck when he was 1 year old,he was with me when I drive up to Maine to pick it up.Now he is 21 and I'm passing it on to him, reluctantly! We been working on it for the last couple of weeks and get her out today .Sill need to iron a few thing out but its running pretty good. I been reading this forum for quite a few years so I have a lot of plans for this truck and I will need to pick your brains on a few of our up coming projects .

Looked out the window at my trucks.

78 FJ40

Installed new standard shackles front and rear with new bushings. It is certainly as hard to do as everyone indicated but not in the ways that others had problems with. Just a tough little project to carry out in your garage with jacks and no lift and 58 years of living behind you. The ride is so much better now and the wear on the bushings and shackle bolts was disturbing when I saw how much metal had rusted away.

Kriol - magic stuff, I used it on the shackles each week for a couple of weeks before starting the work and it made the old shackle removal very easy, no flames, no beating with a sledgehammer and no swearing; they just came apart with a few taps of the dead blow hammer.

Finished most of a tune up. Fixed my backfire after shutdown issue and installed new lights in my instrument cluster. Weather is finally above freezing for the coming week and next weekend is a four day . . . so hopefully I'll finish the finer bits of the tune up, change the fluids and have some fun.
