Fixed broken dip stick tube on the sbc, tried to pull it with needle nose then small vice grips and nothing then on to trying to use an ez out still would not budge. Finally broke down and pulled the oil pan after removing the cross over exhaust and skid plate. Used a long bolt that I had to flatten the threaded end with the grinder. A few taps with the hammer and it was free. Then everything back together...luckily a find this relaxing and have no need to drive it anytime soon.

Test fit my newer 81 top on my 74. Now I've just got to pull the glass top off and install the seal to bolt it all together.

I'm sure some purists are cringing... My 74 has kick out vent windows, a hatch, split hood, 350, 77 frame, ff rear axle, four wheel disc brakes, plate steel floor, and bits and pieces of 30 or more 40s on it.

FINALLY Replaced the tail lights (with dedicated grounds). And, found a novel new way to get the Odometer to start registering again. Just drive a couple hundred miles ... it finally started rolling over again at about 130 miles.

Looking good! Glad to see you're still making progress.:D

Try to work on it every saturday but work and my wife have different idea's of me using them. There are more details in the tread in my sig.:)

Rebuilt 2 wheel cylinders and broke my cheap advance auto flex hone.......

Installed new MC and got the brakes working, so I was able to :steer: it for the first time! Also put on my new wheels and tires.

Made the altenator work by running a wire from a switched 15A fuse to the altenator input. It wasn't charging and the auto stores said it was good. I figured it was the excitation circuit. I bypassed it. Runs right and I'll be driving it this weekend to the stores and the airport.
