Hi All:

Took the rig 'wheeling! Beautiful Fall weather!!

Some minor body damage, with the front fenders taking most of the abuse, but they are already rusty, etc. so little loss.

Tested a pair a 4 Plus tri-angular anti-inversion installed on the frontend. These performed as advertised (I've had regular problems with regular shackles inverting on the passenger's front.)

Regards,

Alan

Just some minor stuff:
Installed a new CB and tuned the antenna.
Installed a new old rear heater for the upcoming hunting trip. Time to go get dirty.

picked these up. Both are 72's. Got the brown one about a month ago. Got the grey one yesterday with a clean title. tore the nasty carpet out of both. It is going to be a slow progress making one decent, but I'm excited to get started.

Replaced front suspension bushings and had it aligned. Rears get done tomorrow. The rubber bushings in it must have been the originals, the shackles and pins were encrusted with petrified rubber. Cleaned them up and installed new polyurethane bushings. :steer:

Finally got the turn signals working after two years and spent about thirty bucks for carpet and insulation. Now it's nice and quiet inside.

on my birthday BBQ party at the lake and using the tailgate for cooking ..today i made an aluminum table just for the BBQ grill...:hillbilly:

1) Went wheeling. Actually, I just rode along with Alia176 and my Dad in his Tacoma.
2) Bought some bits for Dad's 40 (electrical)
3) Bought external speakers for my CB & HAM (the $10 small radioshack speakers are being discontinued--get them while you can!)
4) Put the tub back on the 40 and actually bolted it to the frame
5) Got to see that $OR sent us the wrong clutch slave cylinder, but that my bracket fab skills are spot on.
6) Checked that the body of the 40 still sits around the custom 3B/H55f in the frame
7) Set the back of the MT cage back in the truck so that next time I'm home I can finish tying it to the frame (have to wait for my fancy poly bushings to make sure that the MT cage is isolated from vibration from the frame)

I think that's it today. The past three days I have helped put an OME suspension on a 40, had the motor/transmission in and out of the 40 3 or 4 times, welded the motor mounts on for the final time, and gotten started learning about my FT-8800r...

Blockaded it in with crap in the yard. Cant get in the garage to give it any love.

Finally got round to overhauling the oddometer so I can see how far I have travelled( reset to 000000.0 from 169999.9)New bulbs so now I can nearly see!
New vacum hoses with clips and new 'O' rings for the spot lights after I tipped the water out and had them in the oven at 240 for 40 mins(did not turn once) Have to change the head lights too as they are full of broken bulbs water and a lot of silt after floating sideways on a few river crossings at the wk end(poulter river nz) All good and the heep broke it's suspension too:lol:(sorry Simon)

Nothing too exciting, just routine maintenance.....

Put the BIG Napa filter in and dropped in some Castrol 20/50.

Of course, nothing is simple - I dropped the drain plug right into the hole on my oil trap. Next thing I know, it's overflowed all over the driveway. Nice....

Jason - I did this on my '40. Went from a tired, burned out '69 1F to a newly rebuilt '77 2F. One of my best upgrades yet - good luck with it.....
