Found out i was riding around without brake lights....seems the switch was too far out so it wasnt triggering the brake lights until I was standing on the brakes.........Glad It didnt cause a wreck.....

Blew a power steering hose, but it's perfect timing. I'm upgrading to a high flow PSC PS pump, too.

I grabbed tho tool kit out of the 'Cruiser so i could fix the toilet.

got to test out my new to me 4spd/transfer case in some deepmud, and stuffed as much fire wood that can fit in a 40....i'll put some pics up the next time i go out.....

I finally got some work done, or almost done.

Had a 1972 era quadrajet rebuilt for my sbc.

Followed a link here on mud, and straightened and installed a set of ford shock towers.

Got 4 of the 5 windows put back in my freshly painted hardtop. Then comes the fun of putting everything back together with new seals.

Finally, I had a local steel shop bend some 1/4" steel for my slider project.

Spring is comming

Tear down going ok. Got the doors and tailgate off(tailgate a pain in my ass). got the blasted and primed. Need to do some sheet metal work before paint prep. Got my 62 axles in yesterday(I'm really stoked on that!!) thats to emk_cruisers!! Got my 60 PS box. Got my 62 springs for the rear SOA. Got my Fox 2-1/2" x 12" Coilovers for the front link. Need to design the front link and there are many people on Mud doing it. What's best? 3-link with Panhard is what I'll probably do. I'll send more pics when I get the time(hardest part).

Been finishing up my Painless Wiring kit and finally got around to fabbing my dash plate. It's not shown but I did add green led directional indicators and a blue led high beam indicator.

I also got my axle back from Tom Wimberly of TNT 4x4. I had a cut and turn done along with a super beefy chunk side spring perch installed.

Nice. But wouldn't the "raised diamonds" prevent the gauge-faces from sitting flush? (Or did you grind those "interfering raised parts" off?)

I used a 1/16th thick sticky back weatherstripping on the back of the gauge faces to get them flush. I took off weatherstripping where the DP "nubs" were contacting the gauge.

Pulled the trans & transfer case
stripped down & inspected the "replacement sm465' {man those 7 rivet MAC tools external snap ring pliers are worth every penny!!)
disassembled and performed necropsy on the old sm465
discovered the output shaft of the replacement is shot, but the old output is in good shape if the bushings are changed out.
Ordered bushings. Placed all in storage till parts arrive

Sunday sandblasted my bellhousing and monday painted it. monday night brought the frame to a guy to re-weld all my brackets (PO sucked at welding) then sandblast and paint the frame for me. picked the transmission up last friday from getting re-built. got my carb, alternator, steering (4x4 labs) in. sure i am forgetting some stuff but been moving pretty quickly along lately it seems like on the 40. and dreading the day i run into either no money for the project for a while and slows down progress or a big problem i dont know how to fix

Pulled the P/S box from my FJ40, replaced the seal, now I gotta put it back in.

I dropped off my 2F block and rotating assembly at the machine shop. Still waiting to hear what size bearings and pistons I will need. Hopefully I will get better news than when i dropped the head off last week and got a call 3 days later saying it had a big crack in it. I also sent my cam and lifters off to delta for their RV grind on the cam and resurfacing for the lifters. I've got a whole bunch of engine related parts in the garage that need to be cleaned, but my daughter's sick and we are expecting more snow tomorrow so I probably won't touch it.
