I followed the baseball stich on this video:

The manufacturer recommended this video, but I found the camera work to be poor.

I used 2 needles on the ends of waxed thread cut 5-6 times the circumference of the wheel. Consistency is the key, keep the overlap sequence the same throughout. Don't rush, check your work often. It took me about 2.5 hours to complete. I started at the bottom. The starting stitch took the longest. Once you get rolling it's not too bad. (If anyone needs more info lmk and I can go into more detail.)

When I first saw @Aloha Jen post her photo, it looked better than factory. I have had steering wheel covers and wraps decades ago and they usually looked like add-ons. She has sent me her third brake light ordering information, she’s sent me the steering wheel cover information… I figured if I really want this done right… I’M SENDING IT OFF TO JENN !!! 🤣

Completed my first valve adjustment. The process is a bit different than a VW / porsche. :) Everything is way more accessible and simpler on the Toyota, but I do prefer working on a cold engine.
I can't adjust all twelve valves fast enough before it cools, but, I'd recommend at least checking the valve lash with a warm engine. It will show the difference resulting from thermal expansion.

I checked several while it was warm and running. Enough to see a pattern where every exhaust valve I checked was a bit tight and the intakes were on or slightly loose. I then turned it off and went through them. They didn't take much, but 7 or 8 got adjusted slightly. I know it cooled a bit, but was able to get through them fairly quickly.

Accuracy is our motto here on the farm.

So, then was it purposeful or does the steering wheel not work? Maybe she wants you in the shop and not wondering the streets.

I never would have guessed the wiring harness would take this long - been in and out of the dash about 6 times now - tie it up, check the fit, out again, redo etc etc. getting closer

Yeah they do. I imagine your complete replace is a ton more work then my '79 which I just pulled every section out, cleaned the wire with simply green, fixed bad spots and rewrapped with cloth harness tape. That took me a lot of time. But was worth it. Now I can see the wire colors at each device and switch and match it to my wiring diagram for diags and troubleshooting. I replaced all the broken plugs with factory ones too.
