I only see 1 vehicle in that photo….😉

I'm still chasing an intermittent issue where my needle valve or float is sticking and I have to whack the carb with a wrench to keep from flooding out. I've replaced the needle valve assembly and checking for contamination a few times with no luck. So installed a new float and coolant overflow res. cap that @Racer65 sent my way. Also stuck on a '75 CA emissions sticker that @cmf2424 had in his archive.

Drove it around a bunch today, so far, so good.

Check your float drop. I had my float set too far in the lowered position, and just driving around, and it flooded the carburetor due to fuel pump pressure, or so is my best guess.

There was a yellow '75 FJ40 featured in the July edition of the RockAuto newsletter. '75 is the only year with that 531 paint code.

After getting rear ended in my Tacoma, I decided to install the LED tail lights I’ve had for a couple months on the FJ40. Getting rear ended in that thing is a scary thought. Also wired up a flat 4 plug so I have trailer lights.

Will also install a 3rd brake light in a hubcap on the spare. The KwikWire harness I installed has a dedicated circuit for that.

Nice job done, congrats mate!

PS. M100 trailer rules!

how do you like the kwikwire harness? i’m looking for options when it comes to wiring and these look nice but i haven’t heard of any experience on a 40

I bought the 14 circuit kit and it seems to be enough. I was worried that interfacing it with the Dakota Digital dash and the stand alone LS swap harness would be a bit overwhelming but it all worked together fine. Wire lengths are more than sufficient and the fuse box is compact and easy to mount. The manual that comes with it focuses mostly on domestic vehicles but for me it didn’t really matter because everything was new. If you are wiring it to your Toyota components then you’ll need a good schematic.

I forgot to add that the wires are labeled every 6” which really helps.
