Just a wee bit of humidity in the air this morning.

Removed air rail, air pump, de-smogged and installed new Remflex manifold gaskets (on exhaust and intake).

Thanks to @FJ40Jim for the pulley kit and engine plugs!

Garage no longer lingers of fumes.
Plus, the familiar smell of exhaust is oddly absent from the cab...
Who would have thought the FJ40 experience could get even better :-)

It's been getting chilly here in the mornings, and i had my hood up (for different reasons).
Figured it was a good time to make this year's radiator block-off. I find it helps warm up the engine quicker and keeps the heater output lukewarm at least.
Had to go through a few beer to make it, but no sacrifice is too great for my Pig

This makes a lot of sense... especially for someone without a thermostatic fan clutch. My direct-drive always-on fan keeps my radiator too cool this time of year and my heater sucks.

Always happy to help. This is an old, old-school solution. Just don't forget to remove it come Spring.

Is this in Peoria, AZ? What heater did you add to your Middle East FJ40? What temperature thermostat are you running? Shouldn't be an issue to get the engine to warm up in temperatures above the freezing point. Possible the thermostat is stuck open?

My truck runs cold too. It can run a bit hot in summer, especially at altitude where it is in less dense air. The heater pipes are in a different spot than the thermostat, and any water coming out of the radiator is going to cool the block a bit, which might lead to a cooler head where the water pipes are.

Nothing more satisfying than conquering the cold in a Land Cruiser.

I took my fj40 to George at valley hybrid in Stockton kalifornistan.

I am in the process of retiring and was planning on driving the fj40 to my house near bend oregon when done. When I picked up the LC. And started to leave as it was closing time for George’s shop, the clutch felt wrong . George jumped in and verified. So even though it was closing time George did what he does found the problem fixed the problem working into the night.

home ❤️. Thank you George for making this possible @orangefj45

@ENDO where do you get that cover for your m416? Are you also using some sort of bow system under it?

Received my Christmas present for my 12/68 Fj40. A complete non USA radiator overflow tank. Just the right size and the environment and local critters are safer for it. Pics from back and front to show mounting. Thanks @ToyotaMatt
