Too cheap to buy a replacement upper dash pad. Read on the forum on how to DIY a repair. My dash pad was almost cracked through the middle. I used JB weld plastic bond and finished it with rust oleum bed liner. Aside from several hours of labor I had less than $15 in materials.

Radio deleted with plate from @ATLTJ

Radio replaced with 2 Rocform bluetooth magnetic mount speakers. Very pleased with the results.

PO had foam on inside of door jam and crazy thick door threshold liner in the bottom opening. The upper foam strips and thick lower threshold made it very difficult to close properly. Removed lower and used 3M general gasket remover to begin removing the messy residue from the black foam strips. Closes much easier now. Next up will be fixing ongoing door glass rattles, door surgery coming soon.

I bought her this week!! Lola isnt the prettiest, her hardtop is in rough shape, and I think shes gone too far to restore her with this tub, but damn am I proud to own her. Shes the first car Ive payed for and it feels good to know shes all mine.

Couple things happened this weekend. Painter sent me a sneak peek and I cleaned up my winch and threw it on the front. Need to decide on a steel cable or synthetic rope. Any recommendations?

I use synthetic also, for several years, have used it to pull over many trees and pull tree stumps. Has held up well. Mine came plain and I had to splice a thimble on the end, not that hard. The thimble has since been destroyed so I have to redo it. I think mine is 5/8, a little heavier than needed but I got a really good deal on it.

Found this info when looking into fusible link design. SAE J156. I've read that the fusible link should be no longer than 9", I have never found the basis of the 9". The testing is done with ~6" of fusible link wire.

Took a trip to town. Saw a small herd of elk hunkered down in the low ground. There was also a bald eagle right off of the road eating a carcass, head was blood red and soaking wet, stopped to stare me down as I drove by, all the time keeping about 20 other large birds at bay. He really looked pissed off and mad about it. Didn't get any pics of him, it was in a bad spot along a curve in the road.

Buddy of mine shot a big mule deer right before dusk a few years ago that fell into a steep canyon in the rain. We went in the next morning at first light, 2 hours to get to it and there was a bald eagle on it eating the guts out. Had 2 coyotes and a bunch of other birds in a circle around it at 10 yards, but none would dare get any closer.

Keep in mind that the cold spell the rest of the nation is getting we've been enjoying for about 10 days now. I really couldn't tell you the last time we've been above 20F much less above the freezing mark. Winter is relentless here.

That is a cool sight seeing a Bald Eagle eating his prey. I snapped one this past July in your part of the world fishing on the Flathead, stopped and watched, hoping it was a Whitefish he was enjoying!

I changed the fan clutch, hoping for warm weather and little better cooling. I ordered an OEM with cooler ( I have CCOT aftermarket) hoping it would kick in a bit sooner. I will give it a test run later to try and determine if there is any improvement.

Steffan, really horrible on the prep and i could've done a better job. I grooved the high areas and the cracks and then filled in the low areas and the loose metal internal strip with the plastic bond. I used paint stirring strips and clamps to hold it together. I then sanded it level and smooth with 200 grit and then sprayed two coats (sanded in between) of spray can self etching primer and then two light coats of Rustoleum spray bed liner in a can. It's not perfect but looks good from the highway until I save up for a replacement dash or make a box storage.

I removed my gauge cluster and sent it off to Southern Electronics to repair the frozen odometer.
Also started to replace the wing vent rubber gasket. I couldn't remove, then finally broke the plastic access plates, ordered two new ones from SOR.
Turns out I ordered the wrong vent gaskets. I have a '74, these are for "77-'84. Doh!
I'm putting these in the classifieds, discounted...my loss is your gain!

That pic could have been taken in the square in Prescott Arizona just a few days ago. They got a few inches. People forget that even in Arizona at a Mile High you will get the white stuff this time of year. Thanks for sharing Ryan
