Adjusted the valves and checked the compression. Seems to run better on the highway. Several seemed a bit tight. Still have a more noticeable clatter from the back half of the engine. 4-6 sound like a diesel? I don’t think it’s the valve lash.

Probably unrelated, but just thought I would mention. After my valve adjustment, the remaining valve clatter quieted when I switched to Rotella Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Oil.Adjusted the valves and checked the compression. I baked some high temp coatings onto the intake and exhaust manifolds after sandblasting. One day I should put an oven in the shop. View attachment 2577976
She really wasn’t too upset; better than when I soaked some wire hose clamps in pb blaster in a tub on the kitchen counter. When the manifolds were done I said wasn’t that worth it, aren’t they sexy? She wasn’t so sure about sexy but did say they looked really good.I did that as well.... still catching hell from the wife!!
You just have to keep reminding her that she chose you over every eligible batchelor on the planet. She really wasn’t too upset; better than when I soaked some wire hose clamps in pb blaster in a tub on the kitchen counter. Small world, just picked up one almost identical with the same mount and bumper wings.. Looks like the bumper extensions have supports, mine doesnt. Let me know your plans for mounting it.Not to it but for it- snagged a deal on a winch. View attachment 2578987
Mines a Chevy bumper that was on a Ford. Got the drivers hose on this morning.Bought some drain hoses from @Racer65 and installed the passenger side. And your correct about the drivers side @KingAir Driver about it being hard. It will make a nun swear. I never was able to get it on yet.
I also installed my wiper motor and had @Coolerman make me a wiper harness. Doesn’t look like the wiper arms and blades are in the correct possession.

Don't be jealous, y'all have some beautiful country down there. I'm quite fond of the Ft. Benning area and the hills. Joking aside, you guys have some nice small mountain streams out there with some nice brookies!Making me jealous with those pictures of that beautiful state.
That we do! I love the mountains and enjoy the rivers, streams and waterfalls. I enjoy it more when it’s isolated deep in the forest. Miles from the road. Never cared to go to falls a few hundred yards from the parking lot.Don't be jealous, y'all have some beautiful country down there. I'm quite fond of the Ft. Benning area and the hills.
