Didn’t want to make a new thread just for this.

Anybody found a good rattle can paint match for the orange fans?

We got that gorgeous 71 FJ40 in for some work and today found a crack in the fan that should be welded up but ya, 50yr old original paint on it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cheers

By the way, the axle parts on the FJ40 along with many other parts look amazing. We spent a lot of time today cleaning front axle and engine parts. I have never seen 50yr old birfields that look so good.

I will post pics tomorrow, the inside of the knuckles look brand new after cleaning, amazing! 🥰

Cheers

She longs for your attention. Give it to her driving her or she’ll take it from you some other way
Meh, just a little leak, I took it out and drove to town today, I'll probably drive it to work a few days this week as well.

Some switch work today; cleaning and fixing. The reverse switch on the column was painted over and frozen stiff. A bit of Deoxit and time and I got it working great again. My interior light switch on the dash was snapped off where the threads start. I drilled and tapped it and lock-tited in a screw, then cut off the head. Dash is almost complete. Need to get better at before pics.

The pictures don't show how small that switch is, nice work

Beautiful FJ40 and 616 dune beige seems to be a perfect match!
Your top looks awesome! Manufacturer/materials?
Thank you. It’s is manufactured by Citroa out of Columbia. Not exactjy sure if the material but it is a nylon synthetic ( similar to back pack material ). The color is their version of OD green
