@alabamatacomaguy.... know I’m late asking but - How’d you fare from Hurricane Michael?

FJ40 used to be my field vehicle and DD. Drove it throughout Alabama and into nearby states. A FJ60 took over as DD and field vehicle and the 40 has been languishing for about 10 years. Still being used on the farm but poor brakes and worn steering took it off the road.

I've decided to return it to road worthiness with a rebuild of the brake and steering system but this is leading down other paths . Mangled front bumper to be replaced with a heavier duty one for example. Knocked off the old one yesterday.

On the way back from southern cruiser crawl I lost my bimini top trailering the 40. Pulled over on the side of the interstate to check something and Chevyoto from Oklahoma pulled behind me to make sure everything was ok. I informed him about losing my Bimini top about a hundred miles back and he explained that's because the darn things not used to going 85 miles an hour down the road.

Got a new Bimini top today from bestop!!

spent the last 6 months working with a Customs Company & Finally have Reproduced the Original YAZAKI brand Black 12 pin Barrel Connector

( i was limited to White in color )

I have sourced All the correct OEM-Type color Coded tracer stripe wire colors , for the various years spans NON-usa & Usa spec.

The terminals are Solid Spring Brass just like OEM

That's the way I roll! A warn winch may be old... but they are never broken!!

Thats why i hoard them i have 4 sitting on my shelf! Winter rebuild projects to fund other cruiser stuff

I'm posting here first so I can help get the word out.... Then I may start a "Valuable lesson learned" thread. Sooo here we go.

Do not bolt these two pieces together until after you have your fiberglass top bolted on to the side panels. They attach to the fiberglass roof, side panels and the windshield frame.

Beautifully painted and straight!! Well, not so much anymore

After I bolted them together, and went to install them on the truck... I realized my mistake. I took the first one apart fairly easily... but the second one..well you see... grrrrr... day and half worth of patience and this is what can happen.

Great call with the raptor on the inside. Still always give you an option for a full headliner in the future if you need.

Well I didn't actually do anything "To" my Land Cruiser as much as I did something "for" my Land Cruiser. I finally bought some real tool boxes so I don't spend all my time rummaging through small tool boxes, buckets, and boxes looking for the tool I know I have. $550.00. (Not my shed)
