The 'spacers' go into each of the holes. The screw goes in the middle and they line the hole.

Had fun today giving my 76 FJ40 a little face lift. PO somehow dented the bumper and I wasn't able to get it all the way out but bent it back enough to install my new to me grille guard. It's not a restore, more of just a refresh little by little so it isn't perfect.

Last few. In case anyone was interested in the metallic color here's a pic. I really liked this color and how it turned out on a rim I pained previously so I figured I would reuse it on the bumper. I think it turned out pretty good.

Thought some of you guys might like this ....
Obviously not many of us appreciate the logo staring you right in the face especially on such a nice dash pad so we came up with this idea.
We had no idea where we where going to place the Mic for the Sony Car Play system, and then it occurred to us that we could do this !!

Still need to bond into place but you get the idea ...

Today was one of those personally satisfying moments that may not mean much to others. But considering how much time I put into developing a truly accurate repro of the sill sticker that early FJ40s used instead of emblems (Repro Toyota stickers for FJ40 (45?) rear sill), being able to finally apply one to my own rig is a big personal deal. Very satisfying!

@oregon fj very nice! The beauty is in the details on these classic rigs and the little things make ALL the difference IMO. Nice work!

Contracted out the old bird for a "lifestyle" fashion shoot lol. I said sure why not just take some pro pics of my 42 and im happy to help.

Not during the weekend, but drove my newly finished '86 FJ60 down to Albuquerque to pick up a bunch of powder coated parts for both the FJ60 and my '71 FJ40. First time on the Interstate since the 3FE break-in period and hit 75 MPH pretty easily. Right at 3,000 rpm, with the H55f in overdrive, FJ62 axles with 4.11s, and BFG LT 235/85R16s. Love the combination. Handled well with the FJ62 power steering, OME heavy front/medium rear suspension, new Japanese 555 brand tie rod ends, and 1/4" toe-in.

Met @89BIGBLUE at Absolute Powder Coating and we took some photos of our two blue 60-Series parked side-by-side. Also met up with @NMfjCruiser to deliver some exhaust parts. It's always good to meet fellow MUD members in person. On the way out of town we stopped at American Toyota to show Antonio and Don where all the parts went that they and Dan ordered for me over the past few years, then to show Brian at Empire Engines how well his 3FE rebuild turned out. We still need to drive it up to Utah to visit the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum and say hi to @cruiserdan.

Tomorrow I hope to install the powder coated Warn winch bumper, receiver hitch, and battery tray in the '86.
