When I can find time, I might do a run of 10 bezels machined to suit a 2 5/8" tach and offer them as bezel only, no tach or paint / coating.
I would plan on using an FJ60 or FJ62 tachometer, there was a post on that a while back here on MUD.

Opinions on this one?....

This week, I sat in the driver's seat of my 40 for the first time in almost a year. It was awesome.

You think that’s awesome... you’ll have a blast when you drive it.

Visited today. Final cut & buff tomorrow, plan to pick up the tub on Friday. All the remaining loose parts either Monday or Tuesday.

Floor is a bit low-gloss, it has some chip protection under the paint which adds a slightly rough texture.

Looks good. I think I’d wait till it’s assembled before final cut and buff if it’s at all feasible.

Deferring to the painter, as he has done this a whole lot more often than I have. We can always readdress after assembly if needed.

Looks Great!! That color is awesome !!

@oregon fj is that single stage paint? Love the color.

Yes, single stage. The color is exactly what I was after. According to Sikkens/Wanda/U-Tech it is T-431 River Blue as used on '64-67 Toyotas. But even better, it just looks right.

Rick and I are competing for longest build. 5.5 years here.

I appreciate you taking a year off and splitting your time between two rigs to let me catch up. Gotta keep it interesting!

Young’uns... I started in ‘91 which now makes 27 years. I’ve taken a year or three off here or there, though.

I’ve got the mechanical where I want it. I have some maintenance and a 3rd to swap. Most of the body is getting there... just have a bit more sheet metal left to repair... and the rear 1/4s. And then splash some paint onto it to make it more or less one colour.

Someday far in the future, it’ll get a coat of shiny paint... perhaps blue.
