Finally had to take care of some bad belt squeeeel... Saginaw upgrade, needs all new pulleys, gonna swap from a one belt to a two belt, RH alt brkt. Thank god I hoard parts...
I’m about to tackle the same project...need to find a triple pully. I think its part #13470-61010

1972 FJ40 update - roll cage finished, CCOT lift installed, engine repairs done, cab pressured washed and bed liner (raptor liner) laid down, oh and CCOT winch bumper and winch installed.......work work work - slow and fun (sometimes)
Feel like an underachiever looking at the post(s) above.
Now that I have been driving the truck regularly, fixing the little things.
Added a second battery.
Repaired the switch (pulled, cleaned, reassembled) that activates the solenoids for 4wd/2wd. If you look closely at the photos you will see that the throttle is actually a two position switch.

Spent a day cleaning mine out - it's now for sale. Glad I spent some time reading and catching up - looks like everyone's been super busy and making some great progress on their rigs - some very amazing work, impressive as well.

Spent the weekend giving my transfer case a semi-rebuild with a good friend. Replaced all seals and some of the bearings. The main issue was the front output shaft bearing which looked like it may have been submerged in water/mud at some point. Buttery smooth now !! Props to Kurt @cruiseroutfit for the quality parts!

This is right up there with when I heard Tom (@lostmarbles) and Rudi (@bj40green) were parting ways with their rigs.
Sarge - I’m sure it was a tough decision to come to and very sorry to see you let it go.
Just in case you wind up cruising this forum less after the sale - thanks, 1000X over, for all the help along the way. It’s folks like you willing to impart their wisdom and experience to folks like me that make this forum such a great thing to be a part of.

On that note - I did make some more progress this week. (Well, not all this week...but I've had plenty of fish to fry)
Fixed my mangled transmission tunnel - a few before/during/after shots to show the evolution:
Fathern-law showing me how to weld THIN sheet metal. Funny story (in hindsight) - moments after this picture was taken, the truck (which has been sitting for 2 years) randomly blew a fuel line and dumped gas all over the floor 10 feet away - from a tank I swore was drained/empty...Close call!
Bodywork:
Paint - still need to do a final sanding on the clear, but all in all, I think it came out great for Duplicolor (Ford Wimbledon White). This was mostly a stop-gap measure until I get around to the REAL body work - I just needed to stop the rust and get it back in one piece to keep the hot, fumy air out of the cab.
For those wondering if Ford Wimbledon White is a good match for Toyota T012 Cygnus White - no, no it isn't. At least not 43 year old, oxidized, clapped-out Cygnus white:
It'll get the job done for a few years while I drive the pants off this thing and tackle the worst of the bodywork on the hard top and doors.

Found a bothersome running issue - Solved - 1F w/SD40 carb stumbling at steady light throttle
Now preparing the body for a trip to the sandblaster by removing everything. Hoping to be ready to lift the tub in a week or 10 days.

Branding. I gather that's the company that made the dash pad.
That stamp is the ONLY reason I DIDNT purchase it... confusing that it’s there. Surely there could be a workaround
It was to cover a flaw in the mold.
I’ve seen someone make a engraved piece to cover it.
I've seen this too - but now I can't find it. I've been eyeing up @fjgoober's dash for a while (just not to that point in my project yet)
