EBI Cruisers
Mark's Off Road
Cruiser Corp
Just to name a few that'll have a bucket full... Tops rust out, those little brackets never do ;) Although having said that someone will prove me wrong.

Mark has a $100 minimum order which I understand the reasons behind. Cruiser Corp didn't respond to several emails and I don't know of EBI Cruisers.

If nothing else SOR (spector off road) has after market ones for sale. Only sold in pairs and a bit expensive for what they are but its an option too.

I took my newest rig to work today. It got some new shoes yesterday. The old owner called it TLC, therefore, it will remain with the it. Everybody crowded around TLC this morning and was checking it out. They all loved it. I'm currently working at the old El Toro Marine Air Force Base.

@CHCP Yes, looks very familiar!! I did manage to unbox and put next to the 40. I did watch the video they sent, it should be updated!! I purchased an Energy Suspension body rubber kit for the mounts. I also did some measurements on the body to the mounts on the frame. Mainly because it looked to me like one was off. And sure enough it is... Not a major deal, when I set it on the frame to test fit in a few days I will see if its easier to move the mounts on the frame or move the support rail welded under the tub. I ordered the 10" stretch tub to get a little more leg room and more room for the kids in the rear. I previously stretched the frame for this. As far as the cowl, everything on the front is painted or powder coated and mostly installed. I plan on putting it together, building a soft top and running it for a year. I figure I will be drilling, cutting and adding things the first year, then I will pull it apart next winter and powder coat the aluminum tub.

Finally got around to installing the new oil pan, and so could hook up the battery to spin the engine and run the new H55 and rebuilt transfer case through all gears. No problems and no leaks! The final leak check of course will be when the engine's running warm and the oil is hot, but so far so good.

Other than that, my derusting vat has been running full time so I can get things painted while the weather's warm and dry. Gotten a lot done, including the battery bracket in the above pic, all the exhaust hangers and radiator bits, and now am doing the bottom of the air cleaner housing:

Oh and this fabulously crazy thing which was very rusty

The 2F spaghetti monster. It is possible to exorcise it, if you don't live in a smog nazi place.
I don't, but I'm leaving it in cuz it'll be the only bling in my bay!

My wife and daughters helped me put the tub on to get a 5 minute test fit before supper. The girls did awesome!! As it was heavy for them!! I was a little worried about the fit, just from reading other people having some trouble with fit. But I think it is really close. I will need to move the mount that is just behind the doors. But, that must have to do with it being the 10 in. stretch model. I don't have the body mounts under it yet and its not all the way to the cowl. I can see I will need to make the wheel openings a bit bigger. Sorry for the bad cell phone pic...

Changed all of my gear oil except the transmission. I’ll change that this weekend.

Installed new Allen head drain plugs and rear diff gasket courtesy of @orangefj45
Ah, there' no end to the awesomeness that is Georg! He provided me lots of crucial advice and TC parts for my H55 install

How is that vat insulated? Color me interested.

Ah, it looked like metal to me in the light.

I am soooo building one of those when I get home...
Have you set up an electrolysis tank before? There's a link in the FAQ (which I haven't read).

Here's the air cleaner housing when I took it out this morning:

After hosing it down and quickly going over it with a small wire brush:

It's great that it removes dirt. grease, rust, and any painted which is not bonded to the metal. For me this is ready for a clean (Marine Clean), zinc phosphate acid treatment (Metal Ready) which will neutralize any remaining surface rust, and then Zero Rust spray paint job. After that's done, it'll outlast me.

I'm getting ready to undercoat my Aqualu for Monday, A little concerned with fitment to front door posts on the cowl, the outside dimensions of the cowling post and the ends of the aluminum door sills aren't the same, it looks like we will have to spread the cowling a bit but still have about an 1/8" on both sides where the tub is wider, will have to make adjustments to the doors for fit, hope it makes a tight fit...Thanks for the tip on the mounts, I had hoped that Aqualu would have more on mounting and I guess they figure one pad per mount point, keep me posted about any other quirks and I'll do the same for you.

Will do! Thanks!

Billmc, what chemicals are in your "cold" derust degrease tank? Very cool.
I have seen a 55 gallon metal hot tank before that used NaOH.

I use Must For Rust myself.

The cool thing about electrolysis is that it leaves a very light galvanized surface when it gets rid of the rust, which further inhibits its return.

JM599 laundry soda, an old battery charger, and a piece of rerod is the only thing you need for electrolysis.

I've dinked around with it, but am ready to do bigger pieces.
