Painted body, rear doors and spare tire carrier dune beige. Still have doors and hard top to paint. I think it is looking good.

Getting closer to being able to re-assemble and drive again. Looking forward to it anxiously.

Drove my 40 for the first time since June of 2015!

After a full rebuild of my engine and a ton of rust removal I am now getting down to the final stages of my build!! Now it is time to finish up on the little things while it running and roadworthy!:beer::beer::beer:

Its a 351w stroked to 408. Lykins Motorsports built it for me. I told him what I wanted and the intended use, and he took it from there. it dynoed @ 411hp/490 ft# of torque with a good idle and should have no overheating issues. A mild build for him. Trans is a np435 out of my '70 LC that burnt in a storage fire. I was able to save the ARBs and transfer case as well, but that was it. It was Ford powered too. For the first time during my ownership the 40 and I hit the road.

And in case the last picture did not give it away. . . I also installed the windshield frame.

Pay no attention to the lack of wipers and low hanging exhaust. . . those have yet to be addressed!

Bout too nice to get dirty........ betcha will though!

A thick coat of oil prevents rust ;)

Test fit a prototype cup holder from a vendor here!!!

Glad i got to be the guinepeg on this one. Fit like a glove!

landies dont rust though :p they do leak a ton of oil though ;)

There is plenty that does rust... bulkhead and frame... he had to replace the frame as it had fist sized holes

:)

Landies rust ... just opposite us...

We rust tub our frames and bulkheads are normally really good

They don't rust tubs... but... frames and bulkheads are notoriously bad for rust

:meh:

Changed my wheels and tires to go with a more classic-mod look (will be keeping the centerlines though). The K02's have impressed me with ride quality, quietness, and handling.

@murf looking good buddy! I am also very pleased with the KO2's as well.

Gave it some gas... then let it talk to a Brit for some time... they had a nice talk...

They swapped rust stories :meh:

@JohnnyC 40: "hey, I went on a 500 mile trip with the boss, pulled up 10 tree stumps, had a trailer of firewood to haul back then just been daily driving the last few months.... what you been up to?"

Brit rover: "aye, not much... been hanging with my boss's bloody mechanic fella quite a bit lately though. Thanks for asking mate"

Put the roof back on. Summer's official end? Maybe just being prepared? Maybe sick of storing doors and roof? - Bingo!
