Same question....Mr. Dog, Looks great!how well does it cool, and can you feel a power loss when it's running?
Check for spider crack repair on yt.Ordered a new rain gutter for the 40 from CCOT, 9 weeks ago with a 5 week lead time. They finally shipped yesterday. So I started work on the fiberglass top to remove the old rusted gutter and found it was in worse shape than I expected.

Then I spent time removing the old rivets and trying to smooth down the underside where the gutter will fit. What I found was it looks as though a PO might have used bondo as a seam sealer. The stuff is brittle and pink like bondo and will snap off the edges easily. You can see the front edge where the stuff is jagged and broken off when I removed the gutter.

I turned the top over and saw this, cracks and valleys on the top side.

View attachment 1503733 With all these cracks will the top need to have a new layer of fiberglass installed? Nothing goes all the way through but they look like spider webs and are all over the top.
I think he means youtube.YT? Don't know what that is.
I think he means youtube.
The rear header bar has the same dimensions as an Ambulance door header bar. There are comparison pics in the Top thread bellow. If you can find either you'll be set.
There would be a small amount of fab work to cut square holes and reinforce the area, but yes, the sheet metal has the same dimensions. Other than that, the Ambulance door striker would need to be removed from the center. How do you figure? Is there a reasonable way to insert the hinge boxes into an ambi door header?
Finally, the part which holds the rear hatch hinges is badly rusted. Does anyone have a decent one sitting around?View attachment 1503739 View attachment 1503741
I'm pleased with how it cools. I would like it better if it had the vent routed to the left side of the driver like the old version did. I may try to figure out a way to add one at a later date. Although there is probably a bit of a power loss, I don't notice it. It's a pretty nice upgrade to have AC in a 40 year old daily driver with 100 degree temps. Well worth the time and money for me.Mr. Dog, Looks great!how well does it cool, and can you feel a power loss when it's running?
Yup, nice and cold! No noticeable power loss.Same question....
Does it work well? Nice and cold?
