Just a quick update. Ran the 12HT for the first time in vehicle. Will post a vid a bit later when I can.

Here's what she looks like in the engine bay

heres that vid...

Finally finished up the engine compartment. I've been about 2 years of working on it off and on. Completely new plumbing and electrical as well. Definitely not stock anymore but still a good ol' F145 with a few enhancements. I'm really happy with how well it came out.

Josh,

All that work, all that awesome attention to detail, and you're going to risk it with a radiator-eating 4-blade fan? Don't do it man!

Mark,

I actually just read about the curse of the 4 blade fan and it's inefficiencies. How does this one look? It was sitting in a box of goodies that the PO of the F145 gave me when I picked up his engine. I'm thinking this one will work. If so, major score!

don't know about your part of the world but down here those flexi fan things are well known for fatiguing and throwing blades into radiators and despite that the blades flatten out as they speed up to reduce drag and also reduce the amount of CFM of air they can move

Power steering bled and working great. I have to admit I can get accustomed to easy steering pretty quick.

Just discovered this thread. Looks like a mid 70's fan will do the trick. The one I have is pretty cheap. Doesnt seem like OEM to me. F135 4 Blade Fan Upgrade

That's what I'm talking about!

I sell the fan and the spacer. I don't sell the spacer by itself.

Pretty much finished my Espar hydronic D5 engine coolant heater installation. Nice and toasty in the mornings now! One of the best mods I've done yet! With a seven day timer it fires up automatically at 5:30 each morning and once I get the relay in the blower motor in the cabin will kick in once the coolant hits 30°C. No more cold mornings with low visibility for me. It sounds like a little tiny jet engine to get some pretty funny looks at the 7-Eleven while I'm in getting my coffee.

But I discovered my batteries are dying. I've had to use this about 10 times since I've installed the coolant heater:

Which brings me to the next project…

Finished the alternator upgrade from the 60's unit.... power steering done and working great. Huge thanks to Valley Hybrid Cruisers that helped me source a bunch of the parts and answered my crazy questions. Brakes working about 80% and close to getting those bled 100%.

Used the BJ74 to haul gear out to the bush to shoot a short film I wrote, produced, directed and acted in starring sneaky's 45 and a borrowed VDJ79 from a nearby Toyota dealer!

Purchased a Christmas present for my 40, a brand new Optima battery!

The old Optima was not holding a charge so I re-purposed it as a boat anchor.

This is an amazing engine compartment, Kudos! mine doesn't look anything like this.

I did however purchase and install four 235/75r15 Firestone Winterforce SUV studded snow tires and I've never had such traction and positive maneuverability during the winter as I do now....yes!
