Fixed up the dash light tonight by soldering in a super bright LED but left the green tinted lens in place. Almost too bright in comparison to the gauge light. Going to have to do that next.

That looks great!! I have one that is showing its age (1970) and was thinking about pulling it off and restoring it. Do you know a good source for the Toyota emblem in the center?

I restored my old one. You can dig a bit and get the center piece separated. then paint the wing and toyota part off white then shoot the pewter color after that. To get it cleaned up and the old paint off, you first have to lightly blast it with glass beads.
This is all done from the back side of course. Keeping the front side Shiney!

Thanks!! As soon as I get home, it is on my to-do list.

Not mine.....but I sure wish it was! Those CA plates look a long way from home here in Hawaii.

Thanks for sharing Jen. That's a nice 40! Is it a friend of yours?
No, I don't know the owner, just saw it parked on the side of the road.

Repaired cab around window which was full of rust.
Cut out the rust back to good metal.
Used a vice bender and a shrinker stretcher to get the shape.
After a bit of filing made it fit and then welded in place.
Have spayed paint through some holes that are out of site, and after painting will squirt some fisholine to stop it going rusty again.
Next I have to repair the top support that goes at the back over doors, as the ends of mine are rusted out.
