I had the grill for my 45 powder coated.

Windscreen out... The windscreen surround is fibreglass and whoever made it had used rivnuts into the glass to attach the hinges.. Needless to say they came loose. Luckily I have a full machine shop at my disposal and a composite bay as well so will make some decent threaded inserts and have them glued in properly.

Found rust only under the rhs hinge. May as well fix this while its apart...other than that I was quite pleased with how it looks under there.

Poor old Coop (the dog) is getting bored of working on the general and just wants to go for a cruise!

Airbox and some other bits came back from powder coating and look far too shiny for this truck!

Also got the h55f in and bolted up to the 3B, waiting on the driveshafts to come back from modification. Need to bend the T-case lever to clear the park brake though :(

Took the radiator to town to see if they could fix it up. Ended up buying a new copper/brass 4 core unit $$$$$ :(:(:(

Dumb idea to use rivnuts in fibreglass!
heres where the t-case lever and handbrake crash into each other doh!

My other toyota's being neglected outside. Contemplated putting a 3L turbo diesel 1KZT-E like the hilux and surf have, in the cruiser since they are cheap as here in NZ and make good HP but I kinda cant bring myself to do it for some reason. I think the 13bt is what I'll aim to use in the end.

Thanks boss !
It's one those things I wonder why I waited so long to check off the "to do" list. They've been in the shed for about 6 months and kept putting them off. Recline, sliders, adjustable side bolsters, butt/seat cushion height adjusts. $47 for both.
Actually I think they came out of a Fusion lol

After two years of ownership, I finally got the top and doors off, and put on my soft half door (thnx @lowtops) and telescoping mirrors(thnx @roadstr6).

Surprised at how heavy those hard doors are. Not sure where I'm going to store them yet. Maybe in the attic with the ambi doors but these seem a lot heavier.

The half doors were a bear to get installed, probably due to years of slow misalignment of my tub.

The truck now is totally different. I loved it and it's blemishes before but now I just really really dig it, and POOF the blemishes are gone/overlooked. So fun to drive.

Took it to Cars and Coffee in Charlotte, nc with a couple ONSC club members. Made a video below of our rigs and other neat cars. Usually we have a bigger club presence but the vacation weekend threw us off.

Well, was going to repair some rust and seal up some leaks in my hard top and the dominoes began to fall. After removing the 20 year old carpet from the inside I rolled on some rubberized roofing coating from my local R.V. center, I'm pleased with the way it came out. Repaired rust spots on the hard top sides and decided to paint just the sides. That came out ok so I figured I'd just do a respray of the whole enchilada. I'm not patient enough to do a lot of body prep, but I did repair a few rusted places. A guy around the corner from me just bought a new Subaru Crosstrek with a very cool color, called Desert Khaki . I decided to do my '40 in the same color. I'm satisfied with the way it came out. Oh ,this was going to be a quick roof repair post on the "what did you do to your cruiser this week"
thread. Well that week slipped into 5 weeks!
