There is an oil seal behind the drum. Mine was the same but it's an easy fix. I imagine it's a fairly harsh environment in there. My son and I continued taking stuff apart.we got the driveshafts off and the inspection covers. None of the transmission bolts had lock washers on them the top two bolts literally were finger tight.I just wanted to loosen them up for when we are ready to drop it down.when I pulled the emergency brake drum off a whole lot of oil came pouring out .is this normal?

Thanks guys I will remember the tips when I reinstalled the new transmission and transfer case or the rebulit one..the one that is in it right now leaks from every were and it cluncks in first gear.I am not sure if it is the transmission or the transfer case that is clunking but I will fine out soon .I was ok with the clunking but one of the seals failed completely. I could fill the transmission with oil and fifteen minutes later it would be all on the groundAnd even with the oil seal and everything else in good condition, oil will still travel along the spline of the transfer-output-shaft. You won't stop this (even by using silicone sealant on the splines as some do) so it's best to accept it and instead seal where the driveshaft yoke-flange mates up:

Without pics it never happened.Mounted a lift from Amazon in my garage and lifted the top off. Works much better than having my son
and wife help me. Plus a lot more room now with it up high.
Took the first and second rides of the year. Ran like a champ other than the ignition switch acted up a little.
Looks like it needs a little cleaning and it will be fine.
Have new shocks waiting to mount and going in for a windshield in about a week.
It was the first good weekend of the year this past weekend. Temp hit 81 for a couple of days. Snow is gone and time to ride.
I will get a picture. I new that before I posted.Without pics it never happened.
What about the wipers set up , motor cover in the lower part
how much would a bumper like that cost with just the tire swing out and no basket?
