gator-could be hinge bushings on door, I know my brothers '76 has worn bushings making opening uneven............

Thank man, I didn't even think about that. Your probably right, can you replace with out replacing the whole hinge?

Have not replaced mine yet, I need to find out the same info!!! LOL

Lol, I was just emailing @beno for a quote on a bunch of stuff too. Let him get a way, that dudes busier than a cat covering up chit.

gator post up if the bushing are replaceable, I will order too.

That is where I got them for my hood hinges. Do the pins and bushings come apart for the rear door hinges too or do you just have to but new hinges??

As predicted, I dropped the trans/TC. I used a come-along suspended from a 10,000lb rated cargo strap attached to roof joists in the garage. Then I lowered it onto an old skateboard and rolled it under the passenger side. Extraction was a one man job...we'll see about the reinstall.

However, upon removal of the prop shafts, I discovered the stake nut on BOTH output shafts of the TC had been recycled. No attempt was even made to torque or re-stake them. This just means another parts order I guess. Fortunately, there's plenty of other stuff to do while I wait for the UPS guy.

Another plus is that the parking brake isn't worn out! It's still on the lowest notch!

Hey Onur says there nonreplaceble .......Damn my spelling sux. Any way just ordered them all the heck with it, haven't got a pin crimper any way. I guess its supposed to get crimped, been so busy I don't have the time to mess with them.

Doesn't look like its been into not very long ago. Man I like that steering wheel.

@SouthBostonFJ40 is the man for the door bushings. @gator25 @tls3601

edit- I don't know if they work on the rears

Thanks @rkymtnflyfisher, already had order just about done with Onur, great costumer service and stand up guy.I will usually try to build everything myself, but they look nonrepairable, I'd just waste a lot of time and jackem up and end up ordering them anyway. When I should be putting a motor together.

Two key updates ahead of my 5-week Trip coming up in June...

New BMW 3 series manual seats and a Metal Tech Bumper!

First the seats. An awesome set of BMW (2012 330xi I think?) manual seats... and I'll tell you, they are a game changer for me. The ride is waaay more comfortable... frankly, the difference between the stock seats and these seats is just spectacular... I wasn't expecting it. I guess they just absorb a lot of the rough in the road on their own. The fact that they just about fully recline (in addition to going up/down and tilting as well), which is the main reason why I wanted them in the first place, has almost turned out to be icing in the cake for me. :grinpimp:

Seats in upright position:

And reclined:

The Metal Tech rear bumper is more of a extra gas storage deal at this point. It looks solid... the quality of the construction is top notch.

Grrreeeenn with envy...

Upper hinge NLA.................lower pricey...almost $90 per hinge!!!

Dangit...Specter has them last I looked.

I am betting the lower is the one that wears the most though...................gotta be a way to repair existing ones. There I go thinking like a machinist again!!

That's right, go for it man.

Could be worse, I'm dealing with a unfinished project that 2 others before me gave up on putting back together. The wiring is eating my ass up.

Coolerman is a wiz with the wiring stuff-I have to get with him for another fusible link and maybe a OEM style solenoid wire connector to my carb.

Today on the way home i noticed engine heat rising way up and pulled over on the side of the road. After little while opened the radiator cap and no fluid on the upper part of the radiator. No problem i have coolant with me allways, just in case. I poured some in the radiator and soked my shoes :censor:
My lower radiator hose clamp had failed(rust) and hose had popped out. Missis came to the rescue and towed BJ back home to get much needed love and care. She (BJ) is back in working order and looks like it didnt burn headgasket:cheers:
