Took the new 200 on some snow today. I was worried about getting stuck with the stock tires so I retreated and reversed it back into the warm garage. :D

SLEE sliders getting installed today. Started yesterday with the AHC fluid and Globe replacement, then this morning with cutting the running board / rocker panels and reinstallation. Pics of Sliders tomorrow.

Installed a “2 inch” Dobinsons lift from @crikeymike over the weekend with a friend. Thanks for the MLK day tech help Mike. Front was a bit of work. One of the nuts on the lower control arms wouldn’t budge, so had to use a spring compressor to fit the new strut. The YouTube videos sure make everything look easy! But it’s done.

Ended up about 3” higher as of now. Wondering where it will settle at after new tires are on. Getting KO2s tomorrow.

Wish Toyota had brought the turbo diesel over to America. Did a ton of driving this weekend, out to the farm to drop the dog off, filled up with gas, then up to Vail. Drove around Vail, filled up with gas. Drove back down to the farm to pick the dog up, drove home. Then drove out to dinner, filled up with gas again. Today will drive my son to futsal, which will probably burn another 1/2 tank of fuel.

Seriously, this thing gets the WORST f'ing gas mileage. Why the F couldn't Toyota either put in the diesel motor for us, or if they decide to stick us with the gasser V8, equip every NA 200 with the secondary gas tank *that they already have* so we can get some proper range outta this thing?

Toyota: “Thanks for being a loyal and passionate customer. We value your feedback. Here’s a turbo hybrid.”

🙄

Americans wouldn’t like the diesels Toyota builds on American roads, and they definitely wouldn’t like what they cost.

Do all non-US diesels also have EGR/DPF/DEF emissions control "features"?

I was a big fan of diesel, but anymore, the above make them so complicated and less reliable, I'm over diesels. Maybe I'm still stinging from my Sprinter spending more time on a flatbed in the last 3 months than actually being driven.
