So you would not intall any aftermarket bumper then nor a hidden winch plate since all of those block the same area.

I also respectfully disagree on stating the upper grille being blocked. The sure size and volume area denotes more contribution to air flow. I also saw that lower vent area based on location diffecting air down and going under the vehicle vs going up.
Bottom line is all aftermarket bumpers block this area and whether or not that contributes to loss of airflow is speculation since I have not seen any airflow studies done but there are 1000s upon 1000s of these 200s running around with aftermarket bumpers.
No, I wouldn’t. Primarily because I don’t need one but also because of the increased demands on the cooling system.

Yes tons of trucks have them, and are adding strain to that system. Fortunately ours are robust.

I like what LFD is doing with that bar, as uncovering the fronts of the tires also dramatically increases drag and isn’t necessary for how many of us wheel. But when someone asks if those holes are necessary, it’s not a simple yes/no answer.

The increased drag and suspension exposure is one of the reasons I wanted to do this bumper insert with LFD. I see myself road tripping more with this 200 rather then tackling tough trails. But I also wanted to be able to self recover or help others in need and I wanted a bit more then a hidden winch plate.

After some reflection I do have to recant my earlier comment saying that that opening might be just decorative. Toyota wasn't one to just add things for esthetics so I am sure it has a function of some sort. The cool thing about the LFD design, if you are not required to run front plate like I am in Colorado you can unbolt an inner plate that they designed in the bumper and open it up even more for airflow or line of sight to the winch. So there are options with this design. Although as mine is installed, the access holes are very large and I feel confident they are scooping up plenty of air for what Toyota was intending with that space. On top of that there is also a 1 inch gap at the top of the bumper which is also allowing air to flow in to the front of the LC.

Overall I am impressed with the design and love how it turned out. 🍻

Uhh.. this is beautiful
It can be yours

Totally agree on Toyota not doing things just because, as well as reducing drag depending on the realistic goals of the owner.

And yes that’s a really clever solution from LFD.

Just put in an order at Discount Tires for (5) Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 LT 295/55R20 for the 2013 LX. I purchased it late last year and although I knew the tires were probably old, the tread had a bit of life left... Well, I checked the date and they are labelled 2013 and the car fax shows 4 new tires were installed c2014. Yikes. Thanks to @TeCKis300 and others on the various tire threads for your input and experiences. I wanted Defenders but this was the best size for my goals and preferences (mild height increase, simple installation, consistent handling, beach sand and ranch/forest road gravel, highway with rain (Houston), towing). Seems I may be one of the few LXs out there with these...

I have a set of these on my Outback and they are absolutely awesome on it. Easily the best non-winter tire I've had in snow. I'm really curious if they'd have the same snow performance on the 200, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you won't see a ton of that in your neck of the woods. You're right that if there are others running these tires, they're awfully quiet about them - I haven't found much in terms of reviews on here.

I saw a few reviews around the internet that generally added up to "great tires in all conditions". Similar to the response for Defenders. They are three peak rated for what that's worth... Discount just called me to confirm and said they are great tires and people seem to love them. Again, that is Houston so probably not much snow usage. He also comment that "those are some big tires! we don't get those on LXs, but they'll look cool!". He asked if I had done any modifications, to which I told him no, and I'm hoping I don't have to haha. Maybe a little if it's rubbing but fingers crossed 295/55 fits good.

Would love to see some photos of these installed on your rig once you get them.

Changed my mind after confirming (based on an older post) that 295/55R20 will require spacers and probably modifications to trim/flaps. I have limited time before a trip and don't want to risk ordering spacers in time and possibly "screwing up" stuff the week before we need the vehicle (I don't have experience in this stuff). So going with Geolandar A/T G015 LT 285/55R20 to still get +0.7" clearance (32.6" dia) with hopefully no modifications required. Will be good enough for our current uses.

I've read a lot of forum discussions and videos on the Geolandars and it gets excellent reviews, very similar to Defenders. Ironically, the vehicle had Geolandar H/T G056 on them (and they're 9.5 yrs old with apparently 70,000 miles and reasonable tread left!). Spare has a leak and Discount Tire wouldn't fix it b/c the spare is 10+ years old.... It's a 2013!!

Making progress...
CBI Front bumper, Rear Bumper, Warn winch, and Prinsu rack installed last weekend..
now working on finishing up the install, with wiring, adding Jerry can mounts, paint and odds and ends.

Yep, CBI.. they no longer offer it apparently.. I have no idea why.. Its stout and opens one handed like a Slee.. It does need 2 brackets welded on to the frame though.. just an FYI..

This is all "new to me" parts off a 200 that is going back to stock, we swapped bumpers, and everything you need to install them, which is a lot actually..

If you ever thought about undoing a bumper install.... this is what you need and some other plastic ducting, and brackets in the grill..
