Are you Mobil to NY? That’s looks great

Hi guys. I have been stalking this thread for about 3 years now while my wife and I saved our pennies. In 2018 we started looking for a replacement for our older Toyota suv, because we started towing a travel trailer. The 200 LC caught my eye and shortly after I ran into @TeCKis300 on another forum promoting the LX version of the 200.

This is the first official weekend with the LX. I am starting with a beautifully Lexus maintained 1 owner with 120k miles on the clock. There is one maintenance item that was missed but that will be another post.

This weekend was devoted to the exterior. The paint on this exfamily hauler has seen better days. It looked almost antiqued when I got it. Every seam/crack/joint had this weird wax build up.

I stripped the wax and then clayed it. I compounded it with my cyclo and M105. I finished up with M205 and then some Griot's 3 in 1 ceramic. There are plenty of areas that could use some wet sanding but that is not happening now. Anyways the whole car just kind of pops now. Starting with a good clean, smooth and protected base makes future cleanings much easier.

I also pulled the rear seats out. The weathertech seems decent but about 3 inches to short.

I took some of the emblems off. Mostly to work the paint and remove the wax build up. At the same time I don't feel the need to advertise. If the L were not inset, I would have removed it as well. Also, excuse the dealer plates. Five weeks post payment is not long enough to get a title sent out. It also makes it impossible to license and illegal to drive.

I see where it came from, not surprised.

This may have nothing to do with the delay, but there was an article in today's WSJ that there is a shortage of "Title Paper" the special paper they print titles on. Go figure.

I’m not big on emblems either. I never understood the type of person that adds random part store emblems to their vehicles, I don’t think I need to understand.

Great looking LX!

If you arrange them nicely, its art. :p

Friendly reminder that you should take care about your sills. Sand likes to stay in there….
I will cut away tomorrow as much as possible and then possibly weld a square steel pipe 😤

Yikes. I need to pull my running boards this weekend and check it out. Good luck!

I spent the evening relearning how to burn a mp3 cd. I am pretty sure I was doing the same thing 20 years ago too.
I dug some CDRs out of the attic and had a successful trial.
