doesn’t the @Eric Sarjeant builds have some type of rubber mat in between?

i’m glad people like you are sharing this stuff on the forums.
Eric Sarjeant applies this to the top of the 12.5 gallon LRA tank to eliminate the friction squeaking problem some people reported.

This was the cause of the squeaking I had on the 12.5 LRA tank. The tank was grinding on the bolt head and bracket of the canister.
I cut it off and placed a rivnut in another hole further forward.
No more contact/squeaking.

Deleted the 3rd row seats. Got the trim brackets with D rings from that guy in Australia and used the OEM HE 5 passenger cargo mat to cover up all the holes. I need to get some foam to fill them in, maybe cut up a gym mat...

Pulling my LRA aux tank to change a charcoal canister as I'm getting a small evap leak CEL.

What do I find, a small coolant leak due to the LRA chaffing against this line. Lovely.

Following up on mine, it's all squared away now.

Others may want to watch the clearance here, where it may rub against the coolant lines mounted to the cab.

Line re-routed and remaining gets wrap to avoid any potential future chaffing issues.

Any rubbing from the CBI bracket and can you show us did you use a auxbeam fuse block and where did you in stall you switches or panel in the cabin

The brackets do the the hood. I did some extensive desert / washboard Offroad driving this weekend and there isn't any signs of rubbing. I have a vos switch panel for all my aux lighting. I have had it for about a year now and I'm pretty happy with it.

I dropped my 40 tank the other day and it had some thick felt between the tank and the body. I wonder if that might provide a better cushion - prevent the rubbing and squeak better than a sheet of rubber? Or maybe both? Thanks for posting about this, hoping to do an extended range tank soon. Now I can plan on preventative measures.

Not sure how I feel about depending on a rubber or felt isolator. Given enough time, metal on metal will still find a way to wear through.

Mine is one of the early LRA tanks so hopefully they've resolved clearance issues then. With my recent tank drop, I was able to find all the witness marks and address accordingly. Which is really the heatercore lines, which frankly surprised me. My evap canister is custom mounted high up with no clearance issues fortunately.

The other aspect is how hard the car is driven. If really mobbing it out there, as I recently did in the washes, the body will flex against the chassis. That's when clearance problems will show themselves and probably where my heatercore lines finally gave in.

Yeah I guess what I was thinking was in addition to resolving clearance issues, some felt isolator may help potential rubbing when flexed. But That was a 43 year old solution on my 40. Maybe not the best idea anymore 😂

I have finally joined the 200 club!
WOW, what a vehicle. Crazy pickup and ride quality compared to my 100.
I feel a bit bad beating on this thing, but its the reason I purchased it soo.....ill just have to scrape it up and then I wont mind anymore.

I miss my 100 like crazy, but I think ill adjust in time.

Anyways...
Picked up a 2014 LX with 60k on the clock.
Just pulled off the 20s and swapped with a set (including matching spare) of satin black Tundra TRD pro wheels, wrapped in 275/70/18 falken wildpeak at3ws

Not quite and cool as the 285/75/16s on my 100 but I love the look and the ride is nice too.

Next up:
Front AHC sensor lift to even out the rake

future thoughts:
Slee step sliders (although I love the bud built, I prefer a slider that has AHC protection)
Slee under armor
big country drawers (love these) curious if I should run rear spacers to help with the payload? Thoughts? Have considered 10/15mm in front and 30s in the rear.

Loaded up the bikes, camping gear, and work stuff for a solo work then MTB trip. About 1200 miles each way should be a good first trial of my new Firestone Destination XTs.

I got a great deal on the five tires, and they’re a good bit lighter than most of the other E rated 285/70R17s on the market. This will be a good shakedown before our 2 week trip out west this summer.

I got them from Scott Kerr, info@s3dp.com.au. Koan also makes a set but they were out of stock for a few months
 
Finally got the minivan's summer tires out of the back of the 80 and rotated them (camber wear from previous life on a lifted Tundra). Ready for summer mode as soon as I get some spacers. The redneck pile behind the house is growing. I'm hoping to make it ugly enough to convince the HOA to let me build a shed :hillbilly:

I R&R'ed the passenger side CV axle, as it was clicking a bit while reversing with the wheel hard over. I think I will rebuild this shaft and save for a spare. I used OEM Toyota.

Then I R&R'ed the serpentine belt, tensioner and idler. OEM parts here, too. The car has 105k on it and I don't know if they have ever been changed. I don't believe the idler or tensioner had ever been off before.

What do you guys do with the old parts you replace? My belt was "OK" and the idler and tensioner rotate smoothly. I usually store that stuff for a rainy day in case something fails. But then I find it years later in my attic, LOL.
